Default Del Mar Gun Show this weekend.....

Anyone have any idea on ammo/gun prices?

I haven't been to a gun show in two years and I got a little cash to burn...Looking for a new handgun. Either a 9mm pistol or 357 revolver

Is it still not worth going?

What time does the line to get inside start to die down? I really don't wanna wait in line to get inside

Not worth going to if you want to buy a gun, the prices tend to be inflated vs what you'll find at a decent LGS.

Not really worth it for ammo either, you'll have better luck online.

And not worth it for components unless you want to be the first in line and wait from 6AM on the first.

Worth it if you just want to be around lots of guns & shooters and have very low expectations of actual deals. I bought four shotgun cases @ $6 each last time I went and that made my day

What time should I show up Saturday if I don't want to get in line to get inside?

*as long as I know the real worth of a gun I don't think it'll hurt to show vendors cash in hand and see if they let it go at a good price

Ehh, show up an hour after opening. All the losers in line SHOULD be gone (on the inside) and you'll be "ok".

I've had better luck showing up on Sunday although I didn't go to the last one. Plenty of ammo left and no lines.

I hope theres a good variety of handguns since I've noticed that lots of people are tapped out from the frenzy and the markets seems to have slowed down

If you go later in the afternoon it tends to be less crowded.

Sundays, at noon there are no lines. And when I went to the last one I stood in line for 10 seconds for ammo at 1:00 pm.

I will be there on sunday as I always am. The handgun selection aint bad, but some of them do have inflated pricing. But you may get lucky and find a good deal.

Ammo prices reflect calguns ammo marketplace

There were actually plenty of normal priced guns

Does anyone know if reasonably priced 30-30 was available today? I'm debating if it's worth going tomorrow since affordable (<$1/round) 30-30 has been the hardest for me to find lately, and is all I really need right now.

Ammo prices approaching pre panic, plenty available. Not much 22lr. Small rifle primers and powder had low stock and high prices. Plenty of LRP.

Picked up a few items for cleaning and such. Didn't really see anything I whole-heartedly needed.

Stopped by DAS and Parallax on the way home and picked up some stripped lowers.

Tons of m&p 9mm fs mags... but they're $44.99!
In generql, prices were lower than they have been, but not better than online. Im sure there were some exceptions.
Still just fun to be around all the guns and like-minded people.

What's this place like on a Sunday. I've been in San Diego for almost three years now and have never attended this event. Looking very interested and the girl & I had talks of going early to try to find some CCI Mini Mag ammo for her Sig Mosquito.

I was there until about 2:30, Most of the ammo I saw you can do better online. The long lines are gone, they have two halls open now so the crowd crush is gone also. They do have powder and from what I saw they were not selling out of ammo. As a benchmark, I saw 7.62x39 for 5.99/20 and 7.62x54r $105/440. The best deal I saw for 22lr was $40/333, at one of the smaller tables... yuck. I worked at the Calguns table in the second hall, come by and say hi to the guys if you go on Sunday!

Take a day trip and go to a gun show in Phoenix. Plenty of ammo but prices are so so. Lots of other cool stuff too. Be careful to not purchase anything illegal in this socialist hell hole, I've heard DOJ has agents in an undercover capacity there. Supposedly they take note of California plates and run them and follow up later.

Thanks for all the pointers. I think I'll go on Sunday, and keep the fingers crossed to find some Mini Mags. Worse case scenario I get some 5.56 instead.

Crashing early tonight, I think I'm feeling a range night tomorrow.

I went to the gun show on Saturday and I was the 30th person in line. To me there wasn't as many people there this time like it was two gun shows ago. The ammo lines weren't that bad either. Just make sure you buy you tickets online.

I just got back. The CCI Mini Mags were sold out. I'm kicking myself in the arse for being a laxed and lazy yesterday.

Instead I got a brick of 22 30gr HP for $67 said to shoot smooth through the Sig Mosquito. A range visit tonight will find out if that holds true or not.

Not a lot of people at all today, we got there about 8:45 and the line wasn't too bad, moved quick once 9 came. The ammo line was at it's peak only 2 lanes worth of people.

Lesson learned, go the first day. Keeping my fingers crossed the Sig will take this ammo and wont leave me on Jam Street.
