Hey guys. Just found this in my dad's garage. I did some research on it but was unable to find what the " 15 C 95" on the back means. The other side says "Rock Island Armory 1905" I saw someone said something about what cavalry, troop, and trooper # it was but I wasn't sure. Any ideas would help. My wife wants it out of the house so it will probably be on eBay, ideas on what to start it at? Thanks guys

Accordng to my copy of Brophy's it's a model 1904 rifle scabbard for the '03 (the Krag scabbards would work for the '03s). Yours is in pretty rough shape, but heck it's almost 100yrs old. I did search for them in sold items, 2 went for a little over $100, one in nicer shape went for $150. Maybe start it at $25. I wouldn't try to clean in before you list it, most militaria guys like "the old patina".

Some critter has been chewing on that great historic item.
