Default The Greatest Mouse In The History Of The Mouse

Logitech MX Revolution.

I've had mine (at home) since 2006. I've got one - bluetooth, unfortunately - at the office. Just picked up a spare 2.4 gHz, the old-school kind, on eBay and it showed up in the mail today. It's used, but very light wear on it, and it'll be good for when my original one eventually dies.

This is the crowning achievement in the development of the pointing device. There will never be a finer mouse made. Logitech are a bunch of *******s for ending production and replacing it with the - greatly inferior - (poor) Performance Mouse MX.

Now, if I can find some replacement NOS microswitches I'll be in good shape to fix the original one when it finally kicks off ...

So do I. Keep it charged, and there's no problem.

Logi makes nice stuff. I prefer the MS 3500 wireless. Like the nice small size. Can move from office to lazy-boy without issue.

I only use Wired PS/2 K/Boards and Mice, as on slower computers wireless and USB would drag their feet due to shared IRQ... Wireless and USB seem to work fine these days for others, but... old dog, new tricks... and all that.

That is why I like to buy several mice when I can, OR look for a different brand when they do stupid things like that.

I bought a wireless Logitech that lasted for about 2 years. That was about 6 years ago.

6 years ago, at the swap meet, I spent $5 on a wired infrared mouse and I havent looked back. Then again, I dont do much, other than play some games.

Nice ergonomics. I had an MX and then went to a Razer Mamba. The palm support on the Logi was definitely nicer for longer sessions.

I only use wired mice.

My favorite is the Logitech G500. I have one on my main desktop, and another on my Mac Mini but it doesn't see so much use (music production).
My secondary desktop has a Logitech MX518.

I have another G500 I sometimes plug into my laptop.

I have used MX518's for year. Best mouse ever and always tracked better than any of the laser stuff that preceded it for many years. I have now switched to G500's as the mouse and tracking feel nearly the same and you get the added benefit of the tilt wheel.

I can't stand wireless mice, even for extended desktop use as I notice the lag, especially with bluetooth mice.

I run mostly MS, wife likes the Logitech.

For durability my MS Intellimouse Optical PS/2 USB compatable takes the cake. Old, ugly, dirty, still works. The rubber feet are completely worn away.

As for best mouse, depends on what you use it for and how you use it. Wife hates everything currently offered because it is featherweight and sucks. She dreads the day her mouse dies.

The Performance MX is the one I use. It would be perfect if the batteries lasted longer than 2 weeks.

I'm still rocking an old Logitech MX700 (circa 2003) on my desktop and I keep a Bluetooth MX1000 (circa 2006) with my laptop.

I have a Logitech MediaPlay mouse that I've had for man, like 10 years or something. I can't even remember the last time I put batteries in it. It's going to be an awful day when it dies.

I have something similar to this at home, and one without the wheel-rocker at work... honestly I can't say I have ever used the side-rocker on the scroll-wheel:

I have that mouse. No complaints. I like logitech stuff as a whole..esp their harmony remotes. They are a little pricey but u get what u paid for and they often have "dented" item sales. Usually just a dent on box, nothing major

I wore out several MX518's.
Ugraded to the Logitec G9 (Corded, with adjustable weight tray) and my search for a quality large mouse is ended.

I feel the same way about my old Logitech LX7 mice. I have two, one for work and one for home. If they ever break I'm going to be super bummed because Logitech only makes really crappy/expensive mice now. I think I paid about $25 each for these LX7s, and I program the forward button to be a close button. It's very nice being able to close a window, tab, or program with that button.

Being a heavy starcraft and LoL player. Computer peripherals are huge. Just like in guns.. KISS. A corded optical up to 1000dps mouse is optimal. I run....

I totally agree 1000%^2.

I broke my MX Revolution a couple of years back and have been desperately searching for a successor. Logically, I bought the Performance MX seeing as how it would likely be the better, faster, and stronger mouse than its older brother. BOY was I mistaken: it doesn't fill the palm as nicely, the wheel and free spin features (or lack thereof!) suck, lack of thumb wheel sucks, and the list goes on. I mean, I appreciate the better receiver, charger, and a not-faulty mouse buttons on the Performance MX, but it just doesn't feel nearly as good when using it.

I pray to god that I will one day find a mouse as good as the MX Revolution. I used to play a lot of video games competitively so I went through a lot of different mice. I wouldn't say the MX Revolution was the fastest, lightest, or most accurate mouse, but it was the most comfortable and a DREAM to use on an everyday basis. With uberOptions and some scripting know-how, I could do just about everything with only the mouse except maybe writing a dissertation.

Just imagine going through a whole porn session without EVER taking a hand off da D, and both hands felt so good you didn't know which one was holding the mouse. It was beautiful I tell ya.

I only use it 2-3 hours a day. Seems we are both at about 20 hours.

I regret buying this POS.

+1
Mine is burnt orange I think.
I think I have one of those too, they have a little tray underneath with 6 slots for two different sized weights and you can REALLY tell a difference when you load it up vs nothing. I use this as my gaming mouse and it is excellent, but I also have a Razor Death Adder as well.

Good stuff.

Plus, the rubbery stuff on the outside comes off way too easily. Mine started peeling very quickly.

The programmability is huge. At work, the less I have to touch the keyboard, the more productive I can be. I've got every single button on the MX Rev programmed to do something.

I've got one of those to use with my laptop. I usually get 2-3 weeks out of it. I'm using it a lot less lately, now that I've rebuilt my desktop system, but even under heavy use I got more life out of it than just 20 hours of use ... Might be time to replace the battery?

Maybe. I would like to get the highest capacity AA NIMH available. Ideally I would love to find something like a 3200mAh (if there is such a thing.)

I left the rubber stuff off, it took a little while to get used to and a few days of trying out the different adjustment addons to find the one that fit my hand best. For games like world of warcraft where I have 40 something keybinds and I use 24-30 of them almost nonstop...it makes life a lot easier.
