Default free duck hunting?

is there such a thing? i thought i would try to start hunting, wow blinds are over a grand. any place around here that don't charge or cost a arm and a leg?

Went to school in Chico, when we didn't have invitations to private blinds we went the Nat'l Wildlife refuge. Low cost duck hunting, can be very busy on weekends.

just remember that some of the refuges are closed with the shut down.

oroville has the wildlife area free shooting. you can usually jump shoot some of the slues

Get a boat and hunt on navigable waterways. This is easier said than done but, very easily done on the bay. Hwy 880 at Zanker I think, still has a boat launch. Some very fast pass shooting including the odd Canvasback.
