More a traditional wood stock and scope setup. Loaded Standard. But shoots very tight groups. This is a really great rifle to shoot

I don't have an individual picture yet so I'll just placehold with my "family portrait."

Diggin the family portrait bud! You plan on doing anymore camo to the stock or just tan? Have you had a chance to shoot her yet?

Hi Chris!

I was going to paint the stock flat black but changed my mind at the last minute b/c as you saw, everything I have is black. I did take your advise and hit it with a flat clear to keep it from chipping.

I did get to shoot her today. Just to feel out what it likes... Right now the 147gr seems better than the heavier soft points...

How are you liking that stock? Is it all polymer? Did you have to fit your receiver into the stock?
looks good.

In order:

I like both stocks.

The Archangel (Upper two pictures) is all polymer except for the sling swivels. The JAE-100 G2 is all aluminum except for the skins, grip, cheekpiece, and recoil pad.

I definitely had to fit the stock to fit my reciever (not difficult, just takes a file) for the Archangel. The JAE-100 fits like a glove.

And thank you, I think they look good too!

Nice family you got there. Hows the stripper clip guide rail on your Mod 0 working out for you? I often hear mixed reviews on them.

Thank you.

No problems with mine, it's a tight fit and lines up perfectly with the top rail.

OK, here are some photos of what I have done to the M1A Archangel stock. I added a rise of 1 7/8" to make it legal in CA and keep the web of the hand above the top of the exposed portion of the trigger. I coated the piece and grip areas of the stock with a high textured coating of rubber for positive grip and ascetics. I added the same textured rubber to the receiver side sections of the stock also. I think it looks and feels good. The M1A receiver locks in very tight. I had to cut the rear lug area out which is a lot more than you need to do for a standard M1A, (My rifle is a Supermatch with rear lug). I like tinkering so it was no big deal to me. Working on guns is as much fun for me as shooting Oh, the stock accepts the heavy Kreiger barrel without needing to remove any material. Also done but not shown is I found the proper length of pull for me, a happy medium between shooting laying prone and standing and I drilled a small hole through the LOP adjustment wheel and put a piece of safety wire in it to conform to CA assault weapon laws regarding adjustable stocks. Note, everything I have done is completely reversible. The Archangel Stock is made of Hygroscopic polymer, meaning that it will expand slightly over time to be even tighter to the receiver.

Picked up an M14 walnut stock from the gun show yesterday to replace my old model synthetic stock. No idea on the story, but the finish is clean, fits snug, and has the cutout for where the "fun switch" should be. Got it from some small booth in the back for $60. I haven't shot it on the "new" stock yet, but it sure looks pretty nice!

Turned out nice! Did you end up using Milliput, or something else? Just in case I decide to do it again.

Thanks. I used a product called PC-Plumbing epoxy putty. It cures in 3 minutes, so everything is very quick. Super hard, I mean METAL hard. Since the pictures I have also bedded the action to the stock using the same material. Nice and tight. I used shoe polish as a release agent for bedding the stock. Make tiny holes in the stock so the material can adhere well.

Nice looking stock. Mine has a straighter grain...doesn't have as much character as yours.

Sling looks goofy...you know how to use that thing?

Nope. I've only ever shot freehand or off of a bipod / sand bags.
