Default Sold

Make: Remington

Model: 700 SPS-Varmint

Caliber: .308 Winchester

Location (city or county): Stockton, CA or East Bay Area

Price: $1000 OBO

Will ship (Y/N): N

Other info:

Up for sale is a Remington 700 SPS-Varmint. This is the version with the 26" barrel. It's seated in a B&C Medalist M40 stock in black with grey webbing. It also comes with:

* Leupold STD mount 1" scope rings

* Weaver 20MOA base (never got around to getting rings for it)

* Swivel bipod

* Sling

* Standard SPS stock (wouldn't recommend you use it)

* Butler Creek flip-open scope covers

* Cheek rest with ammo holder

Got it recently in a trade but now something (and by something I mean student loans) have come up and I'd rather have the money. Looking for $1000 for all of this.

I've also a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20x50mm mildot reticle scope I can include for $725 and MFS zinc-plated .308 rounds I can sell for $0.60/rd.

EDIT: Proof barrel is free-floating:

Damn. Well, if you don't sell it and I don't buy a similar one by the time you come down again, pm me. Yours is exactly what I was looking for. If only you were closer

I'm not an expert with long range rifles (this being my first), but it does look like it's free floated. I'm using the Bell and Carlson M40 stock and all the websites I look at say it's free floated, and when looking at the rifle from the front there's about .25cm clearance between the rifle and stock.

There's definitely also some space there as when I push down on the barrel, there's noticeable movement. Again, this is my first long range rifle so sorry if my assessment is total amateur hour.

EDIT: This is the exact model stock I have, which the website claims free-floats the barrel.

Test it with a dollar bill. Wrap it underneath the barrel and slide it between the barrel and stock, if it's free floating the bill should not stick anywhere between the barrel and stock. Nice looking rifle.

Thanks a ton! Tried it out and the barrel is indeed free floating.
