Default Brno ZKM 468 now C&R at Widener's - added pics

Widener's updated their website and now the Brno ZKM 468 single shot .22lr is C&R eligible.
http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.c...r=700|701|1028
I emailed them just to make sure since they used to have them listed as 01FFL only. Also asked about condition and said "The rifles are just like new. They have been fired very little and the stocks are almost perfect." My order shipped today and will arrive next Thursday.

Let us know how it shoots. Good price. Tempted but jeez, my bank account is pretty worn out from reloading gear.

unfortunately I ordered one too. It is defiantly a love hate relationship with you guys. I'm starting to think you all want me divorced. Cant wait to get it to the range. Wish me luck with hiding this one from the wife.

Great little shooter . I take it out a lot to plink
I got one of these a while back from another C+R seller for $ 100

Really Cool how the safety works and Locks the bolt
The groved wooden stock where the butplate is nice

I've been teetering on the brink of ordering one of these for a few weeks...

I'd love to find one of those Romanian mag fed .22 trainers as well.

I have one too that I bought from Eric (Preachere) on a different forum a few years ago. It's a great shooter. I wanted to pick up another one just based on the condition of the one in the picture.

Maybe you'll get the unicorn you always wanted, an honor guard czech capture sino letter gun 22lr with a blank top cover. That'd be sweet.

Here you go.
They arrived 1 day early & are in surprisingly good condition for being 63 years old. Metal and wood are in excellent condition. The finish on the top one has a few blemishes, almost like it was wrapped while slightly tacky. Overall, I am very happy.

Can we get some close ups of the action? Those look great. I think I'm going to have to add one to my collection.

Might pick one up once I have some money to spare.

Turns out I enjoy shooting single shot 22lr more than anything else lately.

I used to have a ZKM 468 but the stock was in kinda poor shape in comparison to the ones Widener's is selling. I've been there, done that with this model gun, so I'll pass, but they are definitely nice "garden" guns to have for the price.

It would nice to get one of these and rattle can it black, maybe screw a section of rail into it for a RDS, maybe a one point sling. Just thinking out loud....

I can't say with these for sure, but I've ordered rifles from Wideners in the past and they shipped via UPS. They say they ship using UPS and FedEx, so it is probably whichever is cheaper...

The one on the bottom is real purdy. Interesting how the text is slightly different between the two, and the circle Z is a little different in size between them. Different factories? Different days? Ought to be fun to shoot.

I never noticed the difference in stamp and font size until you mentioned it. The one with the larger circles is a 4 digit s/n while the smaller circles is a 5 digit s/n. The ZKM I bought a couple of years ago is a 4 digit s/n and has the larger circles too. They are all stamped 1950 though. Anybody ever seen one other than 1950 from the older batch a couple of years ago by WSS or this current batch from PW Arms?

I also got one on the way. Thanks for the photos, they look nice. I'll be using mine to teach my kids to shoot, along with a remington 511 that I just picked up off GB.

Are these actually surplus? Or we're they commercial rifles?

From what I have read, they are commercial rifles, they were marketed as "garden guns", as in get rid of the pests that are eating all of your Rutabagas ;-)

Shot mine yesterday. Fun gun. Decent groups. The sights are hard to work with indoors but would probably be fine outdoors. I like it.

Default Quick questions

Mine came yesterday, and it's either brand new, or lightly used andwell refurbished? If these are indeed commercial and not military, where have they been since 1950?

For those of you that have shot them? How stongly does the ejector kick out the empty shell? On mine, that tab that gets pushed forward upon closing the bolt is a little sticky when I cycle the bolt open. I may need to clean it. Anyone know where I can get a schematic?

Off hand, I don't recall if the does eject or if you have to manually remove the spent casing. After all, I think it was primarily used for 1 shot 1 kill pest control so speed in reloading may not have been a consideration. If your extractor feels like it is binding up, remove the action from the stock and check to see if the trigger assembly is centered in the dovetail on the receiver. One of mine was a little off center so the forked portion of the extractor would bind against the trigger when you pulled the bolt back. 10 seconds with a delrin punch and hammer fixed it right up. The action is super simple, you don't need a schematic. The nut that holds the trigger spring does not come all the way off, you can only loosen it. I haven't figured out how to get the extractor out of the action without disassembling the trigger. It looks like it wants to come out but the forked portion won't clear the trigger. Here is a link on how to disassemble the bolt.
