I'm not a member yet, but I will try to join with a limited membership. Partly to get eligibility to order from CMP, but mostly because I just want a place to go shoot besides Ghetto Canyon.

That's one of the few nice things about having to drive out then through a dry stream bed to get there: you need at least "stock" ground clearance

is that a 4.6 engine that puked a spark plug. NAPA makes a self taping spark plug kit that works ok on a budget repair. the standard proper repair is to remove the cyl head and have it heli coiled. it takes special cam chain alignment tools to put it back together. if it is a old high millage car i would do the NAPA self taper repair. around 60 bucks. it even comes with the special spark pug.
some repair shops have tools to put in new threads without removing the head. i do not know how much they charge. good luck.

yeah i'm going to the parts store tomorrow after I walk the kids to school. I know time-sert is the way to go but it's bloody expensive and i'm out of work so i'm gonna see if I can do a thread repair or insert on it here and hope it works. either way i'm selling it afterward. it's been a good car but it's time to move on. actually gonna look for an older vic or grand marquis with the 5.0 in it, I know what to do with those. i'm not screwing around with pulling a head on this thing, stupid overhead cam nonsense. don't make 'em like they used to...

Is there any special arrangements we would have to do with WEGC to organize this event, such as a special group rate or something for range fee, if we don't have enough members for the non-members? Since you started the thread, I figured you were doing some background organizing for the event.

Armistice, you asked if I am an Eagle Scout. Yes. Earned it in 1 year and 10 months back in the early 80s before any of the Eagle factory troops existed. Dad and brother are Eagles as well.

Thanks and congrats to you and your family as well. It's a rare thing.

I joined when I was just turning 16 because I wanted to go camping. Messed around for a couple months, but then had some 13-14 year olds who were higher rank than I was telling me what to do. That didn't sit well so I started getting serious. Then I hit every time minimum on schedule and ranked up fast. Motivation helped, as did being older since I was able to use my HS teachers as counselors for merit badges like chemistry and environmental science.

I didn't get a chance to serve in many leadership positions nor attain any palms as I literally made Eagle a month before I was 18 and termed out of Scouts.

Hey, got a question coz Baboosh pointed me toward you. I have 3 coats of MinWax on the T53, but it just doesn't shine up. I've tried a dry buff and a buff with hot water and it still stays like a flat gloss. Recommendations?

Your wifes new focus probably still has more ground clearance than my lowered Ranger - 3" at the front crossmember. Believe it or not, not everybody who lowers their vehicle is ghetto or required to be a criminal.

Yes, i have two rangers

I'm in the other boat (or car as it were). Getting 32 mpg in a Honda Civic (don't lock your car doors - it's still stock ), but would like something with a little more ground clearance. Reading about that 16-20 mpg in Rangers, Xterras and 4Runners is killing me, though; especially with a 80 mile round trip to work and back.

I'm thinking about trading in my Lexus for a Prius. I get 24mpg right now but I'll get double that in the Prius.

25 city 30 hwy in the lowered- 2.3 4cyl manual
14 city 18 hwy in the lifted - 4.0 v6 auto with 31s

The difference in gas kills me, but power locks, windows and AC make up for it. Being able to hit any intersection or driveway at normal speed again has its uses aswell lol

How did this turn into a car discussion all of a sudden? More C&R talk and what people are going to be bringing to the shoot!

Notabiker mentioned not having seen a lowered car/truck at WEGC, and I indicated I may prove him otherwise. Cars and guns, nothing wrong with either

Ive only got one C&R, as my 1964 Marlin 122 is one year short of being C&R
