Default Gun shops who buy firearms and ammo.

Any recommendations or experiences with Sacramento area shops that buy firearms, accessories and ammo? I'm looking for a fair deal, that's all. Thanks.

Wild Bill's in Elk Grove gave me the best price when I sold my handgun a few years ago. Other than that, all the other shops will rape you.

As for ammo, I don't think shops can buy ammo from you. This thing about liability and all that.

Probably get more selling them in the marketplace your own here. Selling to a LGS is kinda like trading in your car to a dealer. You're likely to get raped on the value.

I have listed several items here in the forums, with some success. But, just like any private party sale, I've had lots of lowball offers and tire kickers. Haha. Sorry for the rant.

If your not going to list them here, try Sportsman's Gunroom in Penryn. Marty is more than fair on his prices.

I've done business with Marty before. His shop came to mind.

You won't get more from a shop then you would here in the marketplace...

No, in fact you will get a lot less depending on their take. It could be 30% of your money.
Forum sales have tire kickers and lowballers ,but they can be ignored. Look at their posts and feedback.and go with your gut before handing a third party a chunk of your money.

The new little shop at 24th and J st in Sac. buys guns and ammo. Like others said, they'll need to take their cut, but there is somethingto be said for convenience. The other way to go is to have them consign it. I have a FAL on consignment there just to help support the guy who tries to make a go of it with a gunshop in downtown Sac.

Most shops would offer less than wholesale book prices. If you are OK with those prices, why not just drop the prices on your posts - if you want a quick sale.

THIS!

I will see what you have for sale OP, you might think about heading out the the gun show this weekend 9/7 - 9/8

I'm sure you can bump into some people who might be interested, then head over to an FFL.

I'm working all weekend, and next weekend and possibly the following one as well. Probably won't have a day off until the end of the month. But it seems to me the gun show crowd is still looking for the deal of the century, not just a fair price. Am I wrong?

Could you PM me what you are looking to sell? I just opened up in Rancho Cordova and I'm awaiting approval of my FFL. In the meantime, I need to stock up. However, understand that when you sell to a business, they need to resale that item (I will do it in the future once I'm approved) for a fair price. Either way, it doesn't hurt to let me know what you've got, the condition it's in (or a picture) and I can work with you from there.
