Default Looking for a holster, Newbie to idpa and shooting.

Any stores you can recommend that has them instock(so cali) I've never had a holster before and not really sure what to look for.
I've been looking around at blade tech idpa kit or the comp-tac comp kit.

Any help would be great.
Is is for an m&p pro core 5" or sig sp2022. Both 9mm

Thanks.

What is the difference between revolution kit and idpa kit from blade tech? Both have the holster and dual mag pouch. The revolution kit has a fake barrel.

I was about to post my own question on this myself when I saw this thread.
For IDPA newbie, I would love a head start so I don't buy one that's not ideal.
Appreciate any thoughts.

Sorry; it was a late night shopping for gear so I was half a sleep when I posted.

I was about to order the wilderness belt from their site. But ill check out turners first. Do a lot of you guys get the "csm" option?

So what is the difference between the blade tech holsters? I see on amazon has a "combo kit" for about $55. Then they also have the "idpa" kit for $89 and then the poster above says they sell a $25 version. Optic planet price range from $50 to about $60.

So what do I need in terms of options and features for beginner idpa?
Thanks.

Also opticplanet has a coupon for 20% off gear. About $8 off if you are looking to get the 5.11 operator belt. Code is "bbbb20p"

a good belt, a good holster, a double mag pouch, or 2 singles. Electric ears are a plus, and that's all you need. Oh, and at least 3 magazines. In IDPA you can only have 2 mags on your belt. Maybe go check out an IDPA match near you, and see what the shooters are running. ISI, Prado,

The Revolution kit is made of injection molded plastic for mass production thus the lower cost over the more expensive hand formed Kydex models in the IDPA kit.

Either kit will serve you well starting out (or long term) paired with a Wilderness style belt and 3-6 magazines for IDPA and/or USPSA (you will just need more mags and mag holders for USPSA).

If you get the Wilderness belt make sure it is the 5-stitch reinforced model.

Thanks for the tips. I ordered:
5.11 operator belt
Blade tech revo mag pouch
Blade tech owb holster.
Impact sport muff

Thanks all. Ive been reading and collecting info. The only thing now getting my butt to the matches and seeing what to do and how. Most of my friends don't shoot and the ones that do are fine shooting at the ranges. I want to try something new but feel like the new kid on his first day of school, hahaa.

I'd recommend a 4th mag to make it easier to load and make ready.

If you plan on using for IDPA try the Safariland 568 paddle holster for the weapon and the 572 dual magazine paddle holster. It's what I use.

FYI, M&P Pro Core is not legal, at least with the optics still installed, for IDPA.

Here's a link to what people used in the 2013 IDPA Nats. http://www.aafgidpa.com/admin/equpment_survey.htm Comptac is still the preferred choice in holsters.

What optic? However the sights look like they are .75" high....

Yea 107 Comptacs and 87 BladeTechs. The real question would be how many shooters ran IWB holsters and didn't wear photographers vests? And shot their actual carry gun, or a duplicate of it....
