32.5 cents a good deal, 325$ for 1k rds even after 20$ shipping. I think it would have been a fair deal too.

The "sucker" doesnt work with what Cabelas did, it clearly showed 400 rds for 129.99$ We were not suckered in to anything.

Just got off the phone with Cabela's and they shipped my order this morning. They cancelled it without a problem. Too bad they wouldn't honor the price and quantity they originally offered.

Well, we'll see. Jury's still out. This is going to be playing out for a while. And even though they cancelled my order no problems, that means it isn't personal but I'm still interested in the outcome. If they feel comfortable saying on their website it'll be 400 rounds and they ship 200 and don't recall it with UPS and they don't make it right with somebody I'm going to be darn concerned about future orders.

If it comes to that I'll cancel my $400 in backorders and tell them why. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I just got the call. 1 ordered shipped, I cancelled my second order of course. Told them they are on the hook for the order that shipped as I am not paying that much for that ammo. She gave me the "return to sender" speech. So... it's a dead deal

They should have done this for everyone from the start, right when they found out about the error instead of trying to be sneaky by changing the descriptions in our order history.
Good thing xtremely4 raised the warning flag last night and people started calling and verifying and put a little more light on it.

I contacted Cabela's customer support an hour and a half ago via their website and just got this reply:

Hello xxxxxx,

I would be happy to assist you with your concerns.

I apologize, we discovered this morning that there was a misprint on the website, stating that the quantity of rounds was 400 for the AMERICAN EAGLE RIFLE AMMO: 223REM 55GR FMJ. Unfortunately, that is incorrect. The correct quantity for this is 200 rounds per box. We have removed this item from the website while we make the necessary corrections. We are in the process of contacting customers who placed orders for this ammunition to notify them of the mistake. Your order has already shipped but we have requested the package be returned to sender. Once we have received the package back we will issue a refund. If you receive the merchandise please contact us back for further assistance.

Had them confirm the error and cancel my order as well. Crap happens, people aren't perfect and mistakes are guaranteed in life. Wasn't the first and won't be the last. No big deal and undeserving of alligator tears from this guy. They've hosed me over in the past but I'll keep shopping with Cabela's, as they do offer what I want more often than others.

Since canceling my order, I received another confirmation email saying thank you for another purchase of the 200rd pack but it is back ordered and will ship 9/25. Guess I need to call CS again

I did as well. And it shows both orders shipped, 1 of which was actually cancelled. 1 of which shipped. Man, their systems are really not sync'd. And worse, on the order that did ship, they charged me the shipping price for BOTH orders, despite the other was cancelled. Nice little extra dip on their end.

ya simple mistake by Cabelas. I like their pricing so Ill give them another shot. They are quick to reply to my emails and calls. Never price gouged.

Got the call earlier today. I canceled but have no problem ordering later if the price is right. I've been holding out on buying ammo for a while and thought the market had actually corrected itself. I'm still gonna hold out.

Since the thread is still open I'll rub it in a little more. Exclusive, in-store picture I took today of what you really bought but didn't know you bought cause you thought you bought 400 rounds.

Looked like the last one as well so people are actually paying this much for the 200 rounds:

It was supposed to be a 2 pack of those, therefore 400 total.

Anybody buying those in-store are idiots because you can buy the individual boxes online for a lot less. Which is part of why this whole thing made no sense from the start - their pricing isn't self consistent any way you slice it.

Anyway, sounds like they're getting these things turned around before they arrive which takes the worst scenarios out of play. They definitely got some bozo points out of this though.

Has anyone received their "error" package yet? I know some people reported that theirs got rerouted & returned to Cabelas, but mine arrived in my city last night & is set for delivery tomorrow. I'm prepared for the battle royale!

Was told by cabela CSR that you can also refuse delivery if you happen to be home when ups shows up.

Of course it's worth it to send it back. They earned it. If you wanna stock up, pay the right price, make them eat their over priced bait and switch ammo.

Of course it's worth returning at 64.9 cents a round! Cabelas counts on people who won't take the time to return the ammo and pockets a healthy profit.

You could buy Federal ammo from Cabelas for .22 cents a round cheaper right now!

You are smoking crack if you keep that ammo at that price. 2-3-4 times since then much much better deals have come up, most posted here. I have gotten it in the .41-.42 cent price since that day.

As others have said, they knew about the error, they opted to still ship and why? Because, they are expecting a percentage of people like you to accept it and eat that laughable price. Don't.

Mine is out for delivery today, if I am home, I am rejecting it. If I am not home and the UPS guy leaves it, I call Cabelas and tell them to send a call tag to pick it up and take it away. This ammo is not worth that price and I don't mind sticking them with the bill for shipping both ways on their error.

i dont even smoke cigarettes let alone crack. anyway, here is my reply to cabelas e-mail cs support which disregarded my cancelation request previously.

"This is out for delivery today. I am refusing delivery because the item purchased is different than the item shipped and therefore has been changed without my acknowledgement. "

Put a note on your door so UPS does not deliver it, say you are refusing tracking #..... because the item is not what you ordered, return to sender as refused. Saves you a trip to the UPS counter.
