Nisei Week Inaugural Shotgun Games Event - Sun, Aug 11th
Good Day Everyone,
The South Bay Members' Council would like to announce The Nisei Week Inaugural Shotgun Games Event next Sunday, August 11th at Triple B Clays in El Monte.
Nisei Week has been an annual Japanese cultural event in Los Angeles since 1934. It became an official 501(c) non profit organization in 1999. This week long festival is recognized as one of the longest running ethnic events in the United States and has become a Los Angeles tradition that celebrates Japanese heritage with community based events like basketball, volleyball, martial arts, etc.
Nisei Week 2013 marks the first year the committee introduces a sporting clay clinic/event!!
If you were at our monthly NRA meeting this last week, you were introduced to the chairman of this event, Mike Ishikawa. He explained that the Nisei Chairman specifically asked Mike to create this event to introduce and promote safe shotgun sports to the community. Mr. Ishikawa explained that all skill levels are welcomed but the main focus of the event will be education and training, therefore this event is perfectly suited for beginners and novices!
Shooters will be taught by world class instructors on how to shoot various forms of clay targets that simulate dove, quail, ducks, etc. They will then use their newly acquired skills in a friendly sporting clay tournament where the winners will be selected.
Enclosed in this email is a flyer with details of the clinic/tournament. (see attached)
