Default Shotgun Practice Stage Richmond Aug 3

There will be a shotgun only practice stage up and running on Aug 3. First shot 0930

The 2013 CASC is right around the corner. Good opportunity to shake off the rust. Will have the clay thrower and kickers. and hopefully (fingers crossed) a spinner. I'll be there early for the build. As always, a few extra bodies for the build would be appreciated.

gotta move the practice over to bay #1.
Good news, Richmond now has our own MGM spinner.
CASC will have at least 2 of them, so good time to see what load, or choke works for you.

Thanks again for making this happen. Definitely learned quite a bit. Love the new clay flippers and the spinner was fun.

I can tell you what didn't work on the spinner..

20 gauge 7/8 oz #7.5 with improved cylinder.

Had I brought some 1 to 1 1/4 oz #6's with modified or better, it would have worked much better..

How many rounds does it typically take for a spinner?

I think for my one successful run it took 4 shots with 1-1/8oz #8 Light Mod.

It took me about the same with #7.5s.

With low recoil (1140 fps) 00 buck it took me 2 shots once, and 3 shots another. This is out of a 28" barrel with an mod choke.

#6 Federal Turkey load (3" magnum, 1 and 5/8 oz of shot) turns the spinner in one round...

Turned it in 3 with 7.5 3 DRAM IM choke. Gunna try some 3" #6, 00 buck with F/C and the Vince S. specials next time. Whatever turns it with one, is what I'll use.
