Looks like a full membership is kinda hard to get though.
limited membership lets you use the 100 yard rifle range, and the pistol range on weekends only. full membership you have full use to all the ranges 24-7. full membership is at the limit right now i think.
with a limited membership you can bring a friend for 10 bucks. and kids shoot for free.

I'm a full member and it is worth its weight in gold.

I went up last nigth after work around 7pm and went in a private bay. Setup my steel IPSC targets and had fun for about an hour then went home.

I like having 24/7 access as I get to shoot when I can, not when the range is open.

They are not accepting full memberships right now but if you are interested I suggest getting on the waiting list to have a shot at getting in in February.

I think I will. I see that they will possibly review new memberships in April. I will become a limited member and see what happens later.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that the road to this place is kinda rough. Is that true?

Do they allow surplus ammo?

WEGC is a great place. My friend and I just got done there and between us we probably shot about 150 - 175 rds of surplus ammo between 6 different rifles. Then we put about 200 rds through our pistols and called it a day. I hope to be able to come out and join you guys again next Sunday ...
but as it was it was a good day today

this is a great range, you can park right by your shooting stand. very nice covered benches with stools. they provided target frames free.not a long drive up a mountain. the staff is friendly. most of the shooters have more range time so their is very little shouting from the staff. they have a nice rail system at 25-50 & 100 yards for the target stands that works . no staking targets.

There is some in the marketplace here, but it isn't a bargain. I've been waiting a few months for PPU to come back in stock...

i hope we can have enough benches so everybody can shoot at the same time. the last few times i have been their on Sunday morning only about 25 % of the range was used.worst case we will buddy up 2 to a bench. we should get their around 8 and get some target time in, maybe 9:30 10ish we can start the match.
I want baboosh to give his input and others also. i have never shot at a match before.
i think it is important to keep it simple.
a scope and a no scope class for mosins. and a scope and no scope class for WW 1 and up steel and wood rifles. bolt or simi auto. we do not want to exclude anybody that wants to shoot their C&R with us. if you have a tricked out fin that will make me and my out of the box mosin look silly fine buy me. same goes for the non mosin class. like i said we just want to have fun. lets not take ourselves and our guns to seriously. like i said baboosh and others with full membership or calguners with some match time need to help.

Thats good. I havent shot a real match in years anyway, and would rather just have fun. I can show up early to help set up if I can get a member to let me in. I do that (logistics) for the LA/OC/IE chapter C3 anyway.

And NOTABIKER, if you would like to use a tricked out Finn, You can use one of mine.

I think it shoulf be set up like so:

Mosin irons-
Mosin scoped-

All others irons-
All others scoped-

I think that'd be the easiest to keep track of, and allows even those without Mosins to shoot

What should one bring besides the obvious? I've never shot in a match, do we need specific targets? Etc.

I'll supply Shoot NC targets for the actual match so that way we can all have the same target.

We got the details finalized.

Arrival Time: 8am
Match Start time: 9am
Feel free to get there at 8am to setup and practice or just show up right at 9am to shoot.

All shooters will get 4 shots, I will provide Shoot NC targets so everyone has the same target.

There will be 4 classes:
Mosin scoped
Mosin not scoped
C&R scoped
C&R not scoped

We figured this is the best way to organize it.

Range Cost: $10 (estimate as I do not have confirmation from the range at this time)
Match fee: $0, just a informal get together

Prizes: I will donate items for the winner of each class.

Attendees:
1) NOTABIKER (member)
2) Baboosh +2 (full member)
3) Howie44 (nonmember)
4) ThemBastards (member)
5) Armistice (non member)
6) LuckyScott (non member)
7) Jimja +2 (non member)
8) Low Light (non member)

Please add yourself if you do not see your name on the list.

Have any questions PM NOTABIKER or myself, I'll be more than happy to provide anyone with my number if you would like to call.

Remember that you DO NOT have to be a member to participate.

Directions:

From the greater Los Angeles area: Take the 10 Freeway east to Interstate 15 north.

From Orange County: Take the 91 Freeway east to Interstate 15 north.

From San Bernardino: Take the 215N Freeway to Interstate 15 south.

Exit at Sierra Avenue.
Go north (toward the mountains), 1.5 miles.

Please remember the speed limit on this dirt road is 12 2/3 MPH.

Once you enter the gate please keep speed under 5mph as to not kick up a lot of dust.

When you get to the range and once you stop at the stop sign please inform the range master you are here for the Calguns Mosin Shoot, NOTABIKER and I will be around that area and will come over and get the paperwork taken care of if you are not a member.

Bring CASH to pay the range (estimated $10)

We will be setup on the far right when looking at the main range.

Since Mosins were zeroed with a grouping of 4 shots, why don't we have everyone do 4 shots?

OK i got a message from baboosh and everything is set to go. he put up the 100 dollar deposit. without him getting involved this would have been hard to pull off [ THANKS ]. we need a latest show of hands. i know sometimes people must cancel at the last minute. so if you are on the fence about going please come. i am positive you cant have this much fun for 10 bucks.
