Default SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot 07/26; 7PM @ The Firing Line (Burbank)

SFV Chapter Calgunners,

I just returned from Italia and an awesome 10 day experience with the Mrs doing everything Italian, and I can't wait to get back to the range. It's going to seem like a long time because we had to bump up last months by a week, but our next monthly shoot is still two weeks away. I probably won't be able to wait until then to get behind the trigger, but this will be an awesome event not to be missed. I'm certain I'll come up with something fun an exciting for everyone to test their marksmanship skills between now and then, so if you can make it, be sure to bring your "A" game.

For all of those that have been shooting the qualification courses for the NRA\Winchester Qualification Program, I will again have the paper plates for those just staring out, or wanting to start, AP-1s for those looking to progress through the ranks, and (hopefully) more certificate packages for those ready to advance with me and available for sale.

Don't forget, the first 20 people to sign-up and show up at the event will get a raffle ticket for the free GLOCK we're giving away at the end of the year. You must be a Calgunner of legal age, and a non-prohibited person to win.

I look forward to seeing and shooting with you all next week.

- RoundEye

It's that time again. Join us at The Firing Line in Burbank (1060 North Lake Street, Burbank) for the NEXT SFV Chapter Monthly Shoot of 2013 which will be held on 07/26/2013 @ 7:00 PM.

Please review the following details pertaining to the meet:

Pistols - The occasional double tap is acceptable (but if it's get's out of line the privilege will be taken away), no holstered pistols, no drawing from a holster, no open carry (all standard indoor range safety rules apply)
Rifles - The only permitted rifles must be of handgun caliber (9mm, .40, .357, 5.7mm, etc... are acceptable). ARs/AKs of the 22lr variant are also welcome.
Shotguns - Unfortunately, given the size of the range (47ft), shotguns are NOT permitted.
Cost - $10, stay and shoot as long as you want!
*CalGunners get membership prices on ammo and rentals.
** Firing Line members are free to attend.

REMINDER: - When you're there your actions represent the entire Calguns community. We should always take responsibility for our actions, and treat their facility with the utmost respect.

As usual, we'll be able to utilize their training room to eat dinner, hangout, chit-chat, and purchase swag. In addition, as usual they will be reserving an entire side of the range for us, and depending on the turnout we may have to take turns and/or expand into the other range. We'll also be providing Costco pizza at 8:30 PM or so for anyone that is hungry and wants to eat.

So, who's in? You know there is nothing better that you'd rather do on a Friday night than shoot some guns with fellow CalGunners!

* * *

* If you're interested in volunteering your time and helping coordinate this shoot, or one like it in your area, contact me for details. *

Just a pistol .22lr or bigger, ammunition, money (for targets and plates), and we'll supply the rest.

I'll be there, just might be a little late.

Chad, I'll need you to verify my targets/scores for Marksman 1st Class and Sharpshooter. And if you have the "awards packages" for those, I'd like to buy them. Thanks.

Default So are you a gambling Calgunner?

So for this shoot, I'm thinking poker. Holdem or Stud doesn't really matter, but my question is would you rather pay a couple of bucks for a target and a chance to win a prize, or like $5 for a target with the majority of the money going into a pool that goes to whoever has the best hand at the end of the night, and you would be able to purchase additional targets at $5 each or so to better your chances.

No it will be Poker Pistol out on the target range!

Not sure how its set up, but something like targets will have the cards on them and we shoot to get our hand.

LOL, naw you play the game out on the range. Special targets are on order that should be here just in time for the event. Basically 52 cards on paper fronts and backs, and you try to shoot the best hand you can.

The Poker competition might not be doable tonight as apparently the train or whatever broke down yesterday in New Mexico with the targets on it. We'll see by the end of the day, but chance are I may need to figure something else out for tonight and we'll have to do poker at the next one.
