My friend just got out from phone with Costumer Service of Palmetto State Armory and rep there told him they have been sued by CA. I have no idea over which issue. Anybody hear something?

I actually understood it.

Did your friend ask why? Did you ask your friend? Please, either call, or have your friend call, PSA and get clarufication. Then you can post real information which is helpful. Thanks.

Cheers.

SF may be planning to name PSA as a Defendant in the magazine repair kit lawsuit. They have the ability to add Defendants even after the lawsuit is filed, however PSA is not currently a defendant on file with the court.

PSA does have a new policy to lo longer sell repair kits to CA. The customer service person may just have been referring to the lawsuit, even if they are not actually a part of it. They may have gotten a letter from SF's attorneys.

That being said, it's possible another entity from California is suing them, and we have not heard of it yet.

Default Palmetto Armory has not been sued!

I just spoke to one of the reps at Palmetto, regarding a pending order. They do not want to be sued, and are no longer shipping rebuild kits to California. They have not been sued.

While the lawsuit is BS in the face of the law, the immediate circumvention of casting doubt would be to stop selling a "Complete" rebuild/parts kits, and sell the parts separately/individually as repair parts alone item by item. Go a step further if you wish, and sell everything but the floor plate.

Simple, and nobody could accuse them of selling whole mags, either as broken down kits to build a new mag or not. They would truly be selling parts only; especially if floor plates were not sold separately at all.

Go further if you wish and have a disclaimer on the website with something the buyer must check, that they won't be using the parts to build new mags.

In any case, it is NOT ILLEGAL under current law to purchase and replace the worn parts on your previously owned high-capacity magazines. It's not even illegal to buy the parts and never assemble them into a magazine either. And many of the parts are interchangeable with 10 round magazines of the same caliber (springs, followers, floor-plates, etc.)

.

Don't worry about the morons who are giving you a bad time over your English.. You can bet that they're too stupid to learn two languages let alone three.

The way I understand it is the city of SF is trying to sue companies that sell magazine rebuild kits as a form of harrasment (since the kits are legal according to the DOJ letter). Apparently, PSA has agreed to stop selling rebuild kits to avoid having to deal with potential fallout from the lawsuit.

This is not a surprise, the good people in our state legislature believe that restricting our access to high capacity magazines will make people safer. Once they figure out that it's nonsense they will continue to restrict things until they are restricting sticks and stones, they break bones don't you know?
