Default .22LR M240 Bravo (build thread)

Just won this used airsoft chassis for $360 shipped. This normally retails for $800 new plus tax/shipping

It's full metal except for the polymer buttstock.
I have the carrying handle and heat shield already.

Weighs 17lbs AS IS. Will likely be close to 20lbs when the action/barrel is completed

Will test fit to see if a Ruger 10/22 will fit but I don't think it will due to the wide 10/22 action

More likely a Marlin 795 will be used for this.

so a 10/22 will not fit in this as i expected

a Marlin 795 is now sitting in this chassis.

things to do:
dremel out the ejection port
drill a hole into the M240 receiver.
run an extended screw through the 795 action
use epoxy putty to bed the front action
fabricate a long extended trigger using a Kydex strip (heat form/dremel)

will take pics tonight of the progress.

just purchase a missing M240 top handguard for $19 to complete the conversion.

also added a 10/22 flash hider for it

wow. for 350? you should of gotten a A&K for 70-200 depending on working or not. Working is 200. I got a m249 for 175 and another for 200 both near new condition.

Either way, excellent idea. keep us updated on this project.

A&K for $70 - $200 for a M240 Bravo? take a closer look at the receiver and the bipod again.

this is a Trigger Happy M240 Bravo. retails for $1500 NEW
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=2942

got it for $350 plus $12 shipping

i did buy a broken A&K M249 for $100.
there's a Ruger 10/22 in this one

Spent 2 hours today figuring things out

-Used an angle grinder to cut out the ejection port area
-Used a power drill to make a hole into the M240 receiver and used an extended screw through the 795 buffer

I'm using an M249 heat shield temporarily. That's why it looks thin on the front. I just bought a used M240 heat shield off gunbroker and waiting for it to be shipped. Should arrive in a week

Things to do:
Another 2 more hours and I should be done
Hook up the 795 trigger linkage to the M240 trigger
Paint the ejection port area and silver screw
Buy some inert 7.62 ammo with linked belt
Test fire

I'd say it'll take about 4 total man hours to complete this build

Looks like you have to be more than just mechanically inclined and need to be an artist too when doing projects like this...he heh.

You do great work there on all your stuff I've seen here.
