Default Savage hog gun

Has anyone used one? Accutrigger, threaded barrel, iron sights, decent stock and under 500 dollars.

It's a Savage you can't go wrong. Nothing special about a threaded barrel in Cali tho.

I wanted to like that gun but the barrel is HEAVY making it a pig to carry. The best thing about that gun is the iron sights.

Yeah, from my experience, the Savage stocks are pretty garbage. I have a Savage .243 Model 11 and the synthetic stock on it is pathetic. It flexes even with the slightest amount of pressure. If you did get it, I'd upgrade the stock asap.

With that said though, I have produced decent groups with this crappy stock though. Here is a 5 shot group.

My savage in 22-250 is a tack driver with my hand loads.

For a bit more there is the 114 line - Walnut stock, threaded (interchangeable barrel), accutrigger, 30-06 sporter contour barrel, a bit out of your price range but its no heavier than any other bolt action that I have shouldered. Still haven't taken mine in the brush. A good gun, 1.5 - 2 MOA at worst with hunting ammo.
