Buncha pretty lookin ACOGs here. Mine's been dropped, banged around, run over, etc...still holds zero and works fine. Once I can afford to I'll be buying a couple more for other rifles.

Not sure how well it shows up in the pictures, but the fiber optic part is cracked and chipped in more than 3 spots.

Awesomeness. I've seen some well-used ACOG's, but none like that.

Not saying that the optic in question is or is not authentic. Personally, I cannot tell, but just from what I can see, the adjustment cap appears to be different, there's no bible verse on it (not sure if they all do), and I cannot make out if there's a Made in USA stamp on the bottom.

To compare, here's a clear picture of an older ACOG I had a few years ago.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

I've got a TA31 and that picture from Casual_Shooter shows several inconsistencies.

IF that ACOG is a counterfeit, it would downright awful if he didn't know.

I noted the details you mentioned when I first looked at it, but disregarded them since it's hard to tell that they weren't shopped out for whatever reason. It could be an older tube with the bible verse in the forging on the other side. They haven't always had the made in USA near the base, nor the verse in the laser etching.
As far as the cap goes, it looks like the same type as the one on this page. Maybe an older style adjuster cap? Who knows if the RCO is real or not? How are the military issue RCO's marked?

The tube and finish on Casual_Shooter's ACOG are strikingly similar to a real one.

By the way, if anyone wants to buy a perfect condition ARMS mount in bronze, I have one. $100 obo!

And you say it is real based on what?!?

It has obvious differences that I and others have noted. Unless you can explain those inconsistencies or have actually handled this particular ACOG, then you are just assuming it is real.

Since Casual Shooter hasn't stopped in to clear this up, I've dropped him an IM.

Hi all,

Thanks Sniper for the PM. Didn't know this conversation was going on.

As far as I know, my ACOG is real. I don't recall where I purchased it from (I'll check the receipt when I get home) but it was purchased with the assumption (and price tag) that it was authentic. Probably 3-4 years ago.

If it's fake, I'll be......... upset.

FYI- here is an old thread where someone was selling the same model scope I have. It appears to be identical to mine.

Perhaps that one is also fake?

Since you seem to be familiar with these scopes and their authenticity, can you list the inconsistencies?

When I get home and grab the receipt and check the serial number I'll want to have a list of questions to ask Trijicon when I call them.

Here are pics of the case label, manual, warranty card etc... Oddly enough, I can't find the receipt (although I use this case to hold all my other receipts, that one is missing... )

I suppose, all the following can be fake too and I'd never know but this is what I have. I'll leave it up to Sniper to help me decipher if any of this is fake since he seems to be very knowledgeable about Trijicon scopes.

More photos... On Trijicon's site, one of the things they mention is the raised letters and matching serial numbers on the eyepiece and scope. Bottom pic shows the last two numbers (they are under the Doctor so I could only capture the last two)

Your ACOG is not fake from what I can tell. Sniper3142 was premature and lacking in tact and class in the way he went about "calling you out".

Yours has the "made in USA" as well as the bible verse (acog4x32jn8:12) and my guess is the adjustment caps are styled that way so you could attach capture wire to them, like this:

Thanks. I have no doubts that it's authentic also. While I can't find the receipt, my photos are dated from 2008 so I'm assuming I purchased this 5-6 years ago (v.s. the 3-4 I originally thought)

Just to be sure, I'll wait for Sniper to respond with his list of inconsistencies based on his knowledge of authentic v.s. fake ACOGs.
