Next meeting for reloading? I'm interested in learning hands on, not via youtube...

I'll teach for free but it's best with 1 on 1. Student provides all components and I would happily accept donations in the form of ammo or whatever you feel is reasonable.

No problem. All of the principals are the same, just a little extra time with case prep to trim. PM me or reply to the thread when you are ready.

I could help you on the 223, I do not have equipment for 5.7x28 but the set up would be the same as 223. The cost for components, mainly projectiles and brass, will be different though.

As for equipment cost, you need to decided of you want to go single stage press or progressive press. If you want to load very small batches of ammo, (less that 50), or match ammo, a single stage would be ok but when you factor your time into the cost of the reloads, you may be spending more money than if you bought factory ammo. If you plan to do large batches, a progressive press is the way to go.

And I'm talking about just when offering to help one on one. So it doesn't take away from the club aspect. If that makes sense.

Long beach/lake wood.

The club has the supplies to do a class for you guys!

We need a host to be able to set up for the event! That is all we need and we can get another clinic running.

Host will be compensated for letting us use their home to run a clinic!

Please let us know if you are able to host an event!

Tagged, interested in the next meet for .223. I'll probably only be loading 223 for a long while until I feel comfortable with everything.

I've been reloading on an old CH c style press and I'm sick and tired of it! Do you have any turrets or progressive presses at the clinics? I really wanted to check out/try out a lee classic turret and see if it's adequate. I only shoot 150-200 rounds a week of .357 and .45, so quantity-wise a turret would probably make more sense, but I have always been a fan of buying once so I've been leaning towards a hornady lnl ap.

I've tried asking in stores, but I always get either people that have no idea about reloading or people that think the dillon 650 is appropriate for everyone, then either way I can't bring in my supplies and actually start reloading in store.

Are there any up coming events for this chapter? I am available to volunteer. Has there been any development on the loan/rent program for members? Or open shop hours to use equipment?

Looks like there may be enough interest. If we can come up with a location and a Sunday we can make it happen.

Does anyone have a house/garage/backyard that they would be willing to host this event?

You will be compensated for it.

I was reloading 45 ACP on my Pro 2000 over 10 years ago but have not reloaded in years. I want to start reloading .223 and .308 for my AR type rifles. I am just getting my equipment back in order right now. I would love some help. Rifle cartridges seem a lot more involved than pistol. Even after tons of Youtube videos I have a lot of questions.

Well guys we have a location in the works. Pending the host returning from vacation the Earliest date for a LGB class will be the First Sunday in August. Anyone interested in a general Pizza place meetup and get things rolling. Lost do discuss.

I can show you guys how to properly reload .223, however II'm not setup to do groups I can only do 1on 1 as I live in an apartment and my reloading setup is in my closet, I have a 7 year old so the closet is my only option, I too would accept donations instead of a flat rate unless I'm forced into it as my time is important to me, I can also show you how to reload 40 S&W, 22.250, 30-06, 38/357, 41 Magnum even 450 Bushmaster, if you want me to come out to your location to show you I have a set flat rate in mind that I would aaccept, I currently load on a turret press, not really familiar with progressive presses so PM me if you are interested, I had FighterPilot over for a refresher course so he can vouch for me, if you need immediate assistance call me at 562-712-2675

I'm in for a sit-down. I'm available most weekends except the 21st and 28th weekends of this month, I'll be at a family reunion in Nebraska.

And I agree, lots to discuss.

There still is a Long Beach/South Bay/Lakewood reloading club, we need someone who is able and willing to host and then can have the next reloading clinic.

If you (anyone reading this post) are interested in hosting, drop a line on the message board and the coordinators can work out dates etc with you.

So when shall we start setting up our 3 month rotation dates and locations for our events? I do believe we have a home for reloading classes and a good idea on where we will have our meetings. I can't teach classes. But I can help with other things and attend the meetings and other events. I'll also will tie in the info with the insight monthly shoots to get the word out.
If anyone has official dates please let me know.

This is re posted from the OB/LGB & LA Reloading Club Meeting.

"Oct. 12, 2014: next tentative L.B. Chapter reloading Clinic. Tentative is due to three things: number of students, number of volunteers, and the Host approving the date. I have a pm in to the host, and this is a call out for volunteer instructor/helpers. Mark your calenders.

If you want to attend as a student please see read this thread about attending or pm me directly. I have all the info you need."

I am happy to announce the date is a go. The host has confirmed availability for the date. The remaining two factors in this equation(# of students and volunteers) will be worked out as we get closer. I will be visiting the site in the near future to get a feel for the layout and to map in my mind's eye how the clinic will be set up and what we will need from the volunteers.

I would like to very publicly thank our host for graciously offering his abode for our clinics: you know who you are.

So mark your calenders students and volunteers! October 12 is a go!

If you are interested in attending the reloading clinic, or would like to volunteer, please post and also pm me to make sure I don't miss your post. You have over two months to re-arrange/plan your schedule so start doing so now. The sooner we can lock this clinic in the better prepared we will be.

Thanks,

John Wheeler
