I just got my AR-10 receiver (thanks), but my DPMS magazine does not fit. There's a tiny step on the sides near the front and back that makes it just a little too small. Everything I've seen shows that the LR-308 and SR-25 magazine is the same. This is what I have: http://www.brownells.com/magazines/r...prod22231.aspx

umd - I would suggest to please try another brand of magazine. We have tested multiple brands of magazines in our Lowers and Pmags and Knights magazines typically work the best. There are variances in magazine tolerances from brand to brand.

Please feel free to PM us any time to discuss.

UMD,

I built a couple of these lowers, and I can say that the mag wells are the right size. DPMS 308 mags are a bit large and fit tight in my SR-25 and my LMT MWS . Have you tried a different brand mag yet?

I haven't been able to find any 10 round or 10/20 PMAGs yet, but I probably won't get around to machining this one for a while so there's no rush. I'm not upset or anything, I just wanted people to be aware of the compatibility issue. For future runs, if you just remove the tiny little step then there would be no issue.

Pending issue resolution, we recommend Pmags for proper form, fit, and function.

Will it be resolved in the new batch? I'm waiting on that to get one of your AR-10 lowers, and I do have mostly DPMS mags. And will that next batch be?

Calgunners...

Just wanted to give a double thumbs up to Genesis. I had questions/concerns due to it being a newly 80% Armalite patterned lower on the market and they helped walked me through my concerns and questions. They answered all my telephone calls. Outstanding customer service! I have my 80s and they are great finished products. Looking forward to the AR10 uppers when they go into full production. Thanks again...

So, did the modifications make it into your new production run? I'd love to get an AR-10 80%, but so far the mag fitment issues prevented me from getting them.

When you say "only accepts pmags," does that mean that really, it only accepts Pmags, and not any KAC SR-25 pattern mags?

ETA: NEVERMIND, read the string of posts above.

I'm interested in hearing about other people's builds with Genesis' AR-10 80% lowers. I read kalieracer's write-up, which was helpful, and saw his Youtube video, but wanted to know if there are any others out there.

Ok guys, just finished Genesis' AR10 lower and it functions flawlessly. If anyone needs a milling jig, I have one. I had one made specifically for his lowers and now don't need it...just want to recoup my costs.

Default Gen-2 80% Lower and Genesis Upper Receiver

Calgunners,

We are in the final stages of prototyping and testing both the Genesis Gen-2 80% Lower Receiver and our new Genesis Upper Receiver.

See below photos:

We have made cosmetic changes to our Lower Receiver as well as modified the part to be compatible with a DPMS Lower Parts Kit, with the exception the rear takedown pin (which Genesis will include).

We anticipate this change alone will save the customer approx. $70.00+ from our previous model.

Our Upper and Lower receivers will be compatible with KAC, LaRue, LMT, Les Baer, Matrix, Ruger, and Armalite AR-10A models.

Our Upper Receiver is a slick side model (no forward assist). It uses a DPMS Barrel Nut and is High Rails style. This will allow the use of KAC, Daniel Defense, SWS, or any other High Rail style free-float system to be installed.

Pending successful final testing, we anticipate taking pre-orders for both parts beginning the end of next week.

We have not set final pricing for either part as of yet.

Genesis will have the jigs available for order and shipment with the Genesis Gen-2 80% Lowers.

Regards,

Genesis CNC

Our Gen-1 fit and ran with the Mega Upper, however, it will did not match cosmetically.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PXze1wB-vxw

We have not tested the Gen-2 with a Mega Upper yet, but we do know it will not match cosmetically.
