Lol true but I bet they shoot and run like a champ though that's the beauty of an SKS. Fugly on the side, beautiful in the inside. And like an old mammasan past her days, she still knows how to get the job done.

For real. I had one of these from Classic last year and sold it to a CG'er. I only have the Ruskie now and it shoots very accurate. They are a hoot to shoot

I second that. The cleaning keeps the count down on the range trips. I have a Finn Mosin 1891 Westinghouse that has not had a round through it yet because it's waiting in line behind the M4 and M-38.. lol....

Default shooting

i love to shoot them and do not mind using up the ammo to a point. But coming home on a hot day with 5 rifles to clean is a bit much. and knowing i shot corrosive in them makes my skin crawl. this 34 TULA has not been shot probable sense WW 2.
PS my uncle served in the CBs in ww2 in the south pacific . i still have a Knife he brought home made out of a jeep leaf spring. i served in the ARMY enginers we built roads in NAM 68-69.

Very well... I served mostly on Diego Garcia in the late 70's building up the island on the Pier Team and also had a small role in Operation Eagle Claw.

We were a tight knit group who liked to drink, have fun, and mix it up a little bit with the black shoe Navy.

Good times

Thanks for your service soilder.

These Chinese SKSs from Classic cost nearly $400 , if you choose hand select, matching#s and shipping.

Do you guys think they are worth $400? J&G is charging around $520 to $530.

One78,

My good friend, now lives in Los Altos Hills, was there at the same time.
He was P3 Pilot.

Way cool- Wonder if he is the one that flew us in resin for our homemade knee boards and Sam Miguel beer...

My sks came in last week. Asked for matching numbers, ended up with x3149 w/ triangle 26. I'm guessing I was lucky and received a true, early sino soviet?

Guess we are reaching the bottom of the barrel. My first one from this batch is a beauty, but second, the one I just got today is not as pretty. Still all matching, but even with hand select (best of 10) it has hardly any bluing left. All shiny, even the receiver cover. Still probably a good shooter though.
