Default Down-The-Sight / Reticle Picture Thread

Did a quick search and looked in Semi / Manual Rifle galleries, didn't see one so hope this isn't a dupe.

Basically :

Post an aligned, well taken picture of your optic and it's reticle or iron sights.

Please include the name of the optic and reticle, or iron sights.

Try to avoid posting unfocused, unclear pictures.

Please do not post extremely common ones :
  • Red-dot sights (Standard 2 or 4 MOA)
  • M4 Style Iron Sights (Standard Aperture)

What sparked me to post this was the fact I couldn't find any pictures of the reticle in the optic I wanted to buy. Blindly bought it and turned out okay. I hope this thread will help others determine whatever it is they're looking for.

Vector Optics 3.5-10X44 Marksman (New version) @10X:

Vector Optics 3.5-10x44 by FMJBT, on Flickr

Exceptionally clear glass on this scope. Also has matching mil reticle/turrets. Top to bottom travel for elevation yields aprox. 30 mils total. I still need to take this one out and shoot it to see if it holds zero, but so far I really like it....

Interestingly, due to it's long eye relief and true 1X magnification it can also do this:

Haha no worries, all that's needed is centered and aligned. Nice photo!

You didn't post an optic / reticle description. some curious guy in the future would like to know.

What mount and rear sight do you have that allows you to do this?

I'm running a KAC 600M rear sight along with a YHM barrel mounted gas block/ flip up sight (YHM-9394-H). Mount is a UTG 30mm QD offset mount with a 37mm/1.456" center height. http://www.leapers.com/prod_detail.p...us=&mtrack=12m

ADM Recon and LaRue SPR are both similar in height at 1.47"

Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x 5.56 NATO DFOV14-T1

At Magnification 1X the Killflash seems to be barely visible. The killflash is not visible at 4X.

Here is an extreme close-up of the reticle. I'll need to learn how to use it.. Please note the reticle does not look that big to a human's perspective.

That upside down bdc. For when you're shooting space zombies on the moon and the earth's gravity is pulling the bullet up.

Well, unless his rug is on his ceiling, the photo is upside down, not the sight....

Wow FMJ, your pictures are really great. I wish I would get my camera to focus on both the reticle and sight picture, but for some reason it only is able to selectively focus on the reticle and blur everything out.

Isn't there a thread similar to this, but for irons? Would be cool to merge or have a link to it in here.
