Default Purchasing off list weapon

My buddy wants to sell me one of his guns and use the money to purchase an off list weapon (he qualifies due to being a cop). If we go in to purchase, can we use my credit card or does he have to pay? The DROS would be under his name and the payment made by me. I'm curious if this is legal since I don't have that much cash.

Most likely won't fly. The straw buyer intuition is too high. Why again does he need to use your CC to buy a gun for himself?

Credit cards and crossing name ownership creates issue. Stick with cash. Or save up cash then do the purchase

He's selling me his Sig with 8 mags, IWB holster and $300 rounds of ammo for $600 which is a KILLER deal. Since I won't have the cash until payday, I'd rather just use my credit card to pay for his gun or put towards the cost of his gun, basically a trade.

No problem. Your friend could also sell it to me for $600 cash . I've been considering buying a sig.
