I forgot to ID the rifles...

Left: No 1 Standard, .243 Win, 22" barrel. It looks to have been professionally chopped from 26". Glass is Bushnell 4X12. Just picked this one up today.

Center: No 1B, .243 Win w/Leupold 3X9 Vari-X. Shoots into 1" at 100 yards.

Right: No 1B, 218 Bee with 6X24 Tasco. I haven't shot it yet!

Next on the list is a .223 shooter, a 338 WinMag, and a 45/70 or maybe a .458

Or whatever else pops up! I just love the No 1!

I started a collection of #1 rifles.. they're kinda addictive like that. I have since narrowed it down to the MOST fun, and practical ... the 45-70. Varmoint rifles are suited to be a 24" heavy AR. Hunting rifles for deer.pig and such OUGHT to have a magazine capacity of more than zero... but the 45-70... If you handload... lets put it this way... a box of fact Win 458 CXP3 w/500 grain jsp spits out at about 1850. Yer' # 1 will take pressure enough to reach 1900 fps w/ 500 grain bullet. The 45-70 saami spec chamber is like 30,000 PSI... the #1 can safely handle 60,000. Even factory 458 winmag is loaded to only 48,000. Now... if you extrapolate that into the 458 being loaded to 60,000 psi... and considering the tropical has alonger barrel that the 18"er the Medium sporter offers... ooooooooh!

Very nice! I had a #1A in .30-06 many years ago that I bought from the Kitzingen rod and gun club when I was in the Army in Germany in the 70s. I sold it and wish I hadn't. I'd like to get the same rifle but in 7x57 for my replacement. Thanks for sharing your rifles.
