Default Cold Steel Knives Donates $25k to NRA

Thought this was noteworthy. I first saw it on bladeforums.

Cold Steel Knives (based out of Ventura, CA) recently donated +25k to the NRA. Pretty cool stuff IMO. Seems Lynn Thompson's well aware we're under attack here in our great state.

http://www.coldsteel.com/NRA-Press-Release.aspx

From the press release:
Quote:
Here at Cold Steel we believe wholeheartedly that knives and firearms are brothers in arms and that now more than ever we must work together to defend our second amendment rights...

They are a good CA based company.

I highly recommend going to their parking lot sales in Ventura.

Holy ****, I didn't even know they were based in Ventura. I've driven by that place dozens of times and didn't even realize that was THE Cold Steel.

I've given my business to Cold Steel since about 2005 I think. Their bowies and the rest of the stuff just rock!

I bought like five or six of the big and small Outdoorsman style back in early nineties for me and my hunting friends....even after 15-18 years they are still awesome blades. And we have used them chopping wood ,skinning deer or cutting a steak. Never did like the Tanto style though.

Not of fan of Lynn Thompson as a person.

His knives are good though and the money is appreciated.

I already EDC a cold steel. Glad they did this, but I wish they would move some of their Taiwan manufacturing here to the USA.

You know part of you want's to like a one stop shop where you can gear up to be a viking ninja and hurl objects at slabs of meat and blocks of concrete. Come on now, don't hold it inside, let it out.

^^^ True that but... it wouldn't keep 'em in the same price point. Trade offs

Whoa, whoa, whoa here! Hold on a minute, would ya? Did you just say something 'bout Benchmade? ...wait, you're right, they should pony up too! Maybe they don't feel it as bad, not being in California, especially this year.

I'm trying to remember what all I've had of theirs and aside from shovels and hawks, I think I've only ever had a tiny little fixed blade . Used to be called "ReadyEdge".

Can you expand on why you don't like Thompson? Is it because of something in particular or just because he's a bit goofy.

Lynn Thompson = huge gun nut.
He is a good guy but a shameless self promoter.
Lynn and the rest of the cold steel crew have always been very good to me.
I truly miss hanging out with them after the Pomona show.
