Tell her that she is the Queen of the castle and that you are the King of the castle. Tell her that you were given an offer and you are taking advantage of the offer, that's that...Believe it or not, she will most likely stop listening to you after you tell her she is a Queen and just nod in approval...LOL

Problems solved.
Counter-intuitive, but I second this.

Many anti-gunners may still want access to guns they have no clue or training on how to use... "just in case"

but they're a greater threat to themselves than the bad guy IMO (flame away if you wish)

If you do not believe the people in your household are responsible, ALWAYS mentally stable, have impulse control, are not fools, etc.

then locked them up so that even adults cannot access them

Maintain control of your firearm(s)

i married my wife 2 and a half weeks after meeting her and we been very happily married almost 36 years. i told her i been in jail i drink, i have chased my share of women, i fought dogs and plan to fight roosters and i hunt hogs and have guns. she dispized the dog fighting, ended up liking the roosters, knew the womanizing ended with her, tempered my drinking for my own good over the years, gets concerned when i fight, and understands my love of hunting and the guns. and if i just had to have pit dogs agin she would just tolerate it.it all has to do with love and compramise and being honest with each other.

It is rare to get 3 guns for free nowadays. Why pass that chance? Get them all and let your wife know about it. Select among the 3 which one gun you will most likely sell. Do that and share the proceeds with your wife. That's a win-win for both of you without the guilt.

I third (or fourth) these sentiments. Take her shooting or have her take a class. It sounds like she is open minded enough to consider it. She may just get hooked and come on the forums asking how to get her guns in the house!

Persuade her to get out and go shooting! With or without you, whatever you thinks best. Sounds like you're a patient guy so shouldn't be a problem, the other side is it's sometimes easier to accept instruction and relax from a non-spouse. Look for a Women On Target class near you and offer that up. Barring all that... ask nicely.

Was the same at my house... until I took her to the range, and had her shoot my firearms, my son's pistol, and my friends guns.

Now she's looking for her own.

Mission accomplished.

She was a little less comfortable with that one, asking why if the latter is such a great gun, why do we need to keep the Ruger. Well, I got past that one. Today, a co-worker who is moving offered to give, yes give, me three handguns (I think a 380, a 22 pistol, and some other small handgun). Even though it won't cost anything (other than ppt fees), I anticipate some major hesitation on my wife to going from a life of no guns to being so well stocked. I don't need this many guns, but I certainly want them!! So help a brother out and give me some ideas for answering the wife's question and getting her on board.
Tell her ,if women can buy handbags or shoes at whim, then men can buy their handguns, as that is the male equivalent lol

Where do you guys find these women?

If I walk in the house with a new gun, my wife says, "Where's mine?"

[QUOTE]

For guys it is all about trading up. Let your wife know that women have an expiration date on their body and it starts on their 30th birthday. From then on it is downhill and since their looks tend to go first, men start looking and if they do not have a kind attitude and are very enjoyable to be around, then they will get the boot and be replaced by an 18 year old trophy wife... Honestly without sounding like a major di**

Man up. I love my wife, and have been with her since I was a little child. But I would never let her tell me that I cannot have something, that wouldn't bankrupt us or isn't a real danger to us.

I found out that if I let her buy a new purse or some shoes, she will then ask me, do you want another gun? She asked me just yesterday if I wanted to buy another gun, I told her I'm looking at some now, she said ok, I have 400.00 to kick in if you need it.

That's my baby.

I really do not ask my wife about her new purses and such. She has a job and pays for them.
She really does not need to know the combination to the gun safe and what is in it. I have a job and pay for the contents.
For over 20 years of marriage bliss, has worked fine.

We need a, "like" button" instead of responding.

1.) Because they keep making them
2.) Because I said so
3.) That 30,000 rounds of .22 for Walmart @ $19/500 is now $9600. Good as gold
4.) I have never denied her anything - except chores, projects, going to her faculty parties, shopping - and not just to get my way.
5.) I buy it first, put up with the fallout for a few weeks and everything is OK.
6.) It's a father/daughter time. My 16 year old is an x-ring shooter at 15 yards with any pistol.
7.) Shouldn't you be watching Real Housewives of East LA?
8.) "I told you before we got married; 'If it goes down to between you or my firearms, I'll have your bags packed and a full tank of gas.'"

The best I can figure is that all the guns I have bought over the last 30 years have or will go up in value over the next 30 years. I buy guns for my 11 year old son to have when he's ready. My plan is that in 30 years, my son will step back from the safe and say "thanks Dad"

See the link in my sig line where I've listed (w/links, pix, and videos), 80 incidents where LTCers used their guns to save lives.

IF we win Shall Issue via the federal courts (hopefully, before 2014 July 4), those handguns may come in handy if you or she ever wants/needs to carry in public.

I convinced my wife that guns are another form of jewelry - once she got her first gun she was hooked and has a collection that almost equals mine...
I convinced her that racecars are another form of jewelry - now we own a motorsports company...

Our 25th wedding anniversary is looming - she wants a pair of engraved nickel (silver) pistols and to go to the 100th running of the Indy 500...

I think I did OK...
