Sorry, but no pics for a while. I don't have an 03FFL so I had to ship it to an FFL. The FFL I had it shipped to NEVER answers their phones so I had to go down there in person to be told (after waiting around 30 minutes) that they might get around to checking the guns into their inventory in about 7-8 days(DAYS! LIKE A WEEK OR MORE), THEN I might get a call letting me know I can come down to DROS the rifles.

First and last time I do anything with Parallax Tactical.

So I'll post pictures in about a week (I hope).

[QUOTE=khigh;11615345]Cool -
I'll tell you the one downside, though - you have to put on your patience hat when you deal with Century. And that's awfully hard to do when you're getting new toys.

I've had many of the same issues ordering from Century.
I have always used the online order system and often there would be a delay or other hang up.

My last order last week I decided to call. Took 15 minutes to get it done.
In two days I had a tracking # and today I got 2 more T53's in nice complete except for cleaning rod condition.

Can't beat that...

Damn you guys! Just ordered 2, hope they are decent...

Capybara you asked about the good condition ones, here is the one I got a while back. The sling and cleaning rod did not come with it. All matching except the bolt. Stock has dings, gouges etc but no cracks. It looks like someone used it to break the bolt down in a couple different places

I'm not sure it would be such a good deal since they would have to be sent to a FFL unless you plan on making a trip out there.

Oops - sorry.

Out of state visitor here. I joined to add some information to the wonderful Marlin 795 "Megathread" known far and wide outside of CA.

Then I happened across this thread. I see now y'all don't really have C&R pistols like you do rifles.

I'll shut up now.

Wow, Century must not be very busy right now. Ordered on the 18th and my card has already been hit on the 20th(that means they are shipping out). That is the absolute fastest Ive ever heard of them shipping anything...

Maybe shipping?
just a guess that shipping 5 together might be more than individually.

Finally figured out what was missing from the Hungarian M95/34. It was the safety off the bolt assembly.

Just be prepared to call several times before they set everything up and give you a log-in.

I should have not looked at this thread, lol

Maybe I'll try to grab some next month. I already have 2 rifles on order right now

How do I buy without a C&R or FFL03?

Mine just showed up today. One has a cracked stock, the others hand guard is crumbling. Other than that they are complete, Im satisfied with my purchase. They've been stripped down and are cooking away in my cosmoline coffin.

Your going to have to get an FFL01 to order for you.

I think my phone calls to Century went something like this

1: OK, give us a couple of days to get everything setup
2: That person is not in today
3: We can't find the info you sent, please resend
4: OK, give us a couple of days to get everything setup

10: OK, give us a couple of days to get everything setup

Two months later I actually got everything setup by staying on the phone while everything was sent / processed.

I got my two T53 U Fix'ems from Century. Both have bolts. One bore is shiny, one bore is dirty, but should clean up fine. One has sear-spring problems and won't fire. Should be an easy fix, though. Both stocks are in decent shape. No cracks.I have not done the head space test or firing pin test, yet, but I expect no problems. No much cosmoline. No rust. So why did I take a shot on U'Fix Ems ? Because I had two other T53s already. The two from Century are worth the price just for parts. I figured I could not lose. I will order a sear spring, and I will end up with 2 more shooters, after the proper gunsmithing is done. ...by the way, I have no affiliation with Century, except being a new customer. I will order more U Fix'ems in the future. For those of you thinking about getting your 03, I would say "just do it"...and heed the advice of the good people on this thread, and call Century after you have sent your C&R paperwork in to set up your account properly.

Thanks again to you guys for your advice..................

Default The Good the Bad and the Ugly

The good, both rifles are complete, cannot for the life of me figure out why the blonde one was a UFIXEM. The dark stocked rifle was covered in grease/Cosmoline and was missing the front triggerguard screw, but has excellent bluing.

The Bad
This ones Stock is cracked through at the rear bands, there is also a crack by the wrist. Excellent bluing as well.

The Ugly
Broken toes on all stocks, the top 2 have weak bluing but good bores. The bottom has excellent bluing.

Cant really complain, I rolled the dice and still think I won, got 6 guns for $372 to my front door.

So I went over to my friends house on the way home to gaze upon his latest order of 5 T53 u-fix-em's. Not terrible ........

1) damaged hand guard ( can be swapped from another stock )

2) and 3) missing bottom from lower rear of stock near butt plate

4) damaged forearm of stock

5) lots of dings on stock . Looks like someone beat on it with a hammer.

He might be able to salvage a couple of the stocks but the rest are just firewood........... but that is what he expected

Bores look pretty good with only one or two being real dark. Most numbers do not match but all came with bolts.

Looks like they are getting to the bottom of the pile. The ones from a few months ago were coming in dang near perfect. Still can make some shooters and/or use them for spare parts. They sure did dry up quick though.

For one of the stocks he is thinking over the idea of stripping the stock and just using bondo to fill then sand / paint black......... or maybe just fill and sand and leave it natural with the bondo repairs.

It won't be pretty but it will be functional.

I got a couple of trigger springs/bolt stops from Rick Reich. Rick was very timely with his email responses, and very honest. He is a pleasure to deal with. Later today,I will install one of the springs in one of the T53s I received from Century.

Has anyone here taken a shot at one of the Schmidt-Rubin 1896/11 U Fix 'Ems from Century? Just curious. Thanks...

This is what I'm dong with one of mine, one looks like it was used to pound in tent stakes, and is also cracked. The other's getting cleaned up, I'll post up pictures once they are pretty (or ugly)

Yeah, just email them a copy and call, call, call. Talk to their customer service and just keep at it. Hopefully it's a little better now.

I can't recall seeing any SKS in the Ufixem category.

The type 53 has some nice potential as a good shooter rifle, especially given how expensive the M44s have become recently.

I don't regret buying 5 M44s and I don't even regret trading 3 of them away, but I do regret not buying 15 M44s when I bought 5 for $55 dollars each back in 2007.

Also, not having to worry about a wife/woman, that's the only way to live.

Last time I bought from Century it was a Laminated stock M44 Mosin special for $29 each with free shipping - I got four. I think I have a Hungarian, and a bunch of Russians. Probably four or five total. I have no desire to own any more M44's. Just like today, everyone back then loved them. I just don't see the beauty in these rifles even though I have a few.

I'll gladly take them off your hands for twice of what you paid for them
