Though my thoughts and prayers go to the victims, I think I would like to solve the real problem at hand. All of the shooters are wearing black. We should ban black clothes.

The fallout on this is going to be bad. I would bet money that this is a bullet button rifle converted. The suspect is too young to have a grandfathered AR15.

Let's hope it's an illegal imported AR15 from another state - but logic is telling me otherwise.

Confiscation might be next...

Looks like Yee has already started writing new bills that will do the following:

1. Make it illegal to be divorced.
2. If you are a child of divorced parents you may not own any weapons.
3. Shooting a bus is now going to be upgraded to a felony as is riding a bus when it is shot at.
4. If you set fire to a house, then that act is going to be made illegal and there will also be a limit on the amount of matches you can buy in any 30 day period.
5. If you are holding any type of weapon while exiting or entering any vehicle than that will also be a felony.

Carry on.

ok, we all know the liberal mentality is stupid and screwed up. But we need to seriously consider blow-back on this issue especially if it's proven it was an illegal converted bullet button. why couldn't this f*cker carry a freaking stolen handgun or something dammit...

I would like to clear all of this up. The person arrested is a good friend of mine and is out of custody and was literally arrested for wearing black and being in a bush during the incident. Now that the news has broadcasted his face and slandered his name I think some members here can stop their little witch hunt and quit posting un-confirmed facts about someone from useless journalist.

There is still more to it but I'm not divulging personal info. But that is why the cops arrested him. It was really just a basic precaution massively blown out of proportion. I'm sure you will be able to read all about it once the journalist actually get the facts and report them.

You know, I think the majority of people living in Santa Monica are almost as off-putting as the gunman himself. What happened to that city? Used to be a great California beach town when I was a kid. Now it's a bastion for wierdos and flakes from everywhere BUT California.

This is another nail in our coffin as gunowners. I wish an armed citizen had taken him down immediately. A student or college employee with a ccw and trained up should have taken him down.

This just in . . . as we all anticipated, the perpetrator had serious mental health issues which had already been identified by professionals. The following is a quote taken from a current CNN article entitled: "Source: Santa Monica gunman previously hospitalized for mental health" (http://www.cnn.com/2013/06/08/us/cal...ml?hpt=hp_t1):

"A law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation told CNN Saturday that the gunman had suffered mental health issues. A couple of years ago, he was hospitalized for treatment after allegedly talking about harming someone, according to the official.

It's not clear whether the state government or his family committed him for treatment or whether he committed himself. It's also unclear under what circumstances he was released. The gunman has yet to be identified by police."

We have laws against mentally ill people owning or possessing weapons . . . so how did he get one? You mean to tell me that promulgating laws won't stop that? Doesn't a guy like this know you are supposed to obey the laws? Obviously we need more laws! More laws will protect us! (Not)

Needless to say, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this senseless crime perpetrated by a mad man.

Well, another criminal/insane person in violation of the law. Well, we can take care of that, we just need to make more laws.
