Yup...I just heard helmet, boots, all black, body armor, assault rifle, etc. It's like the Aurora shooting over again.

One witness says he was firing a belt of ammunition from a semiautomatic rifle.

All in black, with a tactical vest, BDU fatigues, rapid shot fired. A gun enthusiast said yep its an AR15, he stopped to reload bla bla bla.

Great, CNN is interviewing a witness who is also a "gun enthusiast" who said he was close enough to definitely see that it was an AR-15.

At this point does it really matter if it's an AR or AK?

( my neighbor came running up at the first report---"...see, see, that's why we need to get rid...", turn my back a walked away, didn't hear the rest of his blather).

I've heard full-auto, AR15, AK47... I'm waiting for the claims of a grenade launcher. We need hard facts.

I'm just appalled by the physical shape of half the guys I've seen there in uniform. Standards go out the window once you're in or what?

CNN just said it was an AR-16, the civilian version of the M-16. Buy your AR-16 before they are gone.

I wasn't able to get past page 2 of this thread. So far, it sounds like NOBODY (here, on the scene or in the news room) knows WTF is going on.

CNN reporting the shooter used an AR-16 and dressed in all black, and that he was wearing military clothing.

Also CNN reporting that "the worst is over."

Reports of the shooter(s) wearing body armor and wielding "assault weapons" are also making the rounds.

Steel up, ladies and gentlemen.
I don't know about you guys in California, but we here in Missouri still remember the North Hollywood Shootout.

We remember the Norco Bank Robbery shootout too. BOTH TIMES, law enforcement had to rely on CIVILIAN weapon sources to end the confrontations.

What the Politicians, and the idiots who vote for them, fail to understand is that the criminals will ALWAYS have access to weapons - laws have no effect on this. If they cannot use one type of weapon, they will use another. All they need is money, and connections, and time.

Laws cannot and dot not prevent crime. To believe they do, is to believe a Lie. Laws can only punish crime, AFTER it is committed. Only a moral conscience prevents crime - and failing that - another person with a moral conscience willing AND ABLE to stop them.

We here all know this. How do we stop these tragedies from happening?

Simple.

Tell the truth to everyone you know... and then have them do the same.

I thought that woman gave a calm and detailed account of what she saw without hyperbole or creating new classes or models of weapons.

http://news.yahoo.com/2-dead-burned-...210257478.html

3rd photo from top doing the perp walk.

I was watching the local news for awhile. Seems like 3 locations off SMCC, plus the burning house, and one or two locations on campus. Sounds to me like he was confronted when he got to the library.

I will be curious to find out why he was shooting randomly into the air, and not always aiming at people he could have taken out.

There it is!! Channel 7 bringing up how high cap mag laws weren't passed, but that this event should bring it to light again. Last I checked, it has passed in CA. The more time I spend listening to and dealing with the general public, the more a cabin in the woods sounds like a great idea!
