I should be arriving at the restaurant at about 6-6:15.
I figure that we will take-over the patio.
Looks like a nice place...

JT Schmid's is a great place to eat. The patio is newly renovated and pretty large, but depending on how many guys you end up with, you might want to consider a banquet room.

I might suggest you meet a little earlier, like 5:30pm. Otherwise you might find yourself short on time for the movie.

How will gun guys going or not going to see this movie cause us to have to surrender our guns? It's the non-gun people that need to see the movie. Is it being marketed to them? Otherwise, it's just a 74 minute (yup, short) warm and fuzzie for us.

I think the point was that there needed to be enough tickets sold initially to bring the documentary to the venue in the first place. Once its there, I believe others will see the show besides us die hards.

But I do agree there is no marketing to speak of. I learned of this through Calguns. They need to run some ads, or put up some billboards - you are right.

if it were truly about "getting the word out", couldn't the internet be utilized? I've never watched a flick on the net but I would imagine that would get broad exposure and spread through various forums (gun and non-gun alike)... and possibly eventually get media exposure.

I realize that doesn't make money - but it would get the word out.

I don't (and won't) use FB...

What I meant was showing the movie via internet... "getting the word out" as in the pro 2A message (not getting the word out that the movie is showing in theaters).

but like I said, an internet movie doesn't generate revenue so maybe they don't want to go that route? It would however, get lots of exposure.

After the theater presentation, I'd expect DVDs, then an internet release.

Is it too late to join the party at JT Schmids? I got my ticket for the show.

By the way, good choice on the food venue - JT is a pro-2A establishment. Our monthly Orange NRA Members' Council meetings are held at the Anaheim location.

I wonder if they have a patio area and that could just be the Calgunners area. Then we might have our own checks. Some might come later, and would be no big deal. It's just an idea. See what they say.
