Default Report-New Dick's Sporting Goods in Livermore

I went to the new Dick's Sporting Goods in Livermore yesterday, grand opening is today but they were open to get the bugs out yesterday. I had a coupon for $10 off of a $25 purchase from the newspaper and another was in the Dick's advertising insert this morning.

I've been to a couple of DSG before while on business in Florida. The one in Jacksonville is awesome, in Tampa not so much. The Livermore one is similar to Tampa, only long guns. Jacksonville had handguns as well and much more.

At livermore they only had bolt action rifles as far as I could tell. No ammo that I could see. Not all that great really, I wouldn't make a long drive to go there.

I bought some Shoot-N-C targets and some Hoppes #9, oil and other cleaning chemicals. Lots of clothing and a fair selection of items for bow hunters. They do have safes and gun bags and they are also into Air-Soft. They also have a fair selection of scopes, red dot type sights are the cheap Tru-Glo and such.

Get the coupon, spend $25, pay $15.

Dick's
CTD
Bulk Ammo
Lucky Scammers
and a few others that jacked up their prices on ammo/mags to sky high levels.

Won't see another penny from me.

My only purchases will be with their $10 off coupon. They had nothing I can't get elsewhere plus not much of a selection.

After their immediate "Pussification" I deleted my account and unsubscribed to their emails.... I will not give $.01 to that business! Same with Groupon.... I unsubscribed and told them why.....

Stop supporting businesses that work against us.... I would love to see the start of a comprehensive list to boycott... Should be published for all to see!

But that's just me.....

Oh... That would make a great 'Sticky'

You should burn that coupon and send them the ashes. I won't sell my convictions for 10 bucks or any amount of free schwag from my enemies.

I have not been there but will they not be allowed to sell ammo, as they are in Alameda County.

Didn't know about that. I just got back after buying a camping stove.

They had a ton of rifles/shotguns and had a huge cabinet full of ammo. Just not much in the way of handgun ammo. No 9 mm and .45 ACP FMJ was $45/50 rounds!!! Wow...What a rip off! At least the stove was reasonably priced.

So why would Alameda let Dick's sell ammo but not let Walmart. I think Walmart should sue.

I was there the other day, had ammo in the morning. I got some .22 for $27 a brick and rem umc .223 for 50 cents a round. And they limited people to a 3 box max!
Prices were inflated compared to pre panic... but not too insane. I did see that federal gold match stuff for that ridiculous 45 bucks a box. I cant imagine anyone paying that much.
Also no semi auto centerfire rifles or pistols -lame.

Have to see how the Dick's opening in Petaluma is. If it's that lame, I won't be going there much even though it's less than a half mile from my house.

The worst thing they did was refund the money of the ARs that were ordered and cancel the order. The poor people that had ordered ARs could not fid any by then. So they were SOL. I will never buy anything from them. That's breach of contract due to some board of directors political views.

The $10 off coupon does not apply to ammo. Went there there this AM and got a brick for $22. They still had 9mm, 45 and 556 with no line when I left. A lot of the people were there for a Frank Gore autograph.

How would anybody here feel? You buy a rifle from Dicks, you go pick it up after ten days, the clerk tells you, you cant have your rifle but here's your momey, we at Dicks feel you don't deserve this rifle so piss off.

Don't support Dicks.

The one in El Cajon doesn't carry guns anyway. But the Big 5 across the street does. Makes it an easy choice.

But big 5s stopped selling their EBR stuff too, and no handguns.
They are the same thing in my book.

But that does suck about the ARs on order being and then getting refunded.

Thanks for all of the info. I had heard of the store opening up and was interested in checking them out - at least until you shared some background.

What is really sad is our many fellow "calgunnrs" using the present environment to opportunistically gouge other calgunnrs in the private ammo section for $50-$65/brick without the slightest remorse!!! Your hated retailer that admittedly bowed under intense political pressure sells them to us for $22. It seems like the price/criticism should be the other way around.

I haven't gouged any CalGunners on ammo yet, but I did trade 4 boxes of 45 on Craigslist. I got a $400 compound bow for 200 rounds of 45. Do I feel bad? Hell no, I offered a trade and he took it, it's not like he had to trade. It's not my fault he was desperate for ammo.

Long story short... It's a free market.

Don't mean to beat the dead horse but what did Bulk Ammo do? Raise the prices and tried to screw people over?
