Default Reloading service in San Diego?

Hey guys,

Was wondering if anyone knew of a reloading service in the San Diego/North County area.

Someone is offering me a half case of bullets as part of a trade offer, but I have no reloading equipment of my own.

They're .308, but I haven't heard what brand or weight yet.

So anyone know of a reloading company down in San Diego?

Are you asking for a reloading company to use your components?

So... You aren't interested in selling them then? Because I could use me some more .308 components.

Well, it'd just be the bullets. I'd have to buy the powder, primers and cases from them. I don't even know if it'd be economical, or if a company would take walk-ins, but I'm looking for ways to make this trade work.

There are very few "companies" that do custom reloading. And fewer still that will let you walk in and use a bunch of second-hand bullets to make hand loads for you. The liability insurance for such a venture would be astronomical. You might find a person who reloads that might do it for you privately. But on a commercial basis? Not likely. Not for less than an arm, a leg, and a kidney per box. You can either sell them, or get a simple Lee reloading set and learn to reload. One of their Classic Loader sets usually runs around $20. Add a pound of powder and some primers, and you can get started for under $60. If that doesn't do it for you, sell them and be done with it.

Figured as much. Thought it was worth asking at least. Thanks for the advice!

I agree with Monkey, learn to load or buy factory.

Or sell it and use the money to buy factory loaded ammo?

Well, it's not really a purchase, per se. I was offered bullets in a trade. Was just doing some research.

Was leaning toward this option, but I found the bullets aren't good for loading full power .308. Oh well.

Thanks for the input, guys!

I don't think anyone who is in the reloading business would do it due to liability issues. Thank the lawyers again and again for state we're in...

I can totally understand this. My family has owned small businesses while I was growing up. I'd want to protect my business from liability too.

Now that I've had time to take in all the feedback, I've got the itch for a small reloading rig.
