Default ASR (Angeles Outdoor)

Haven't been here in quite a long time, way before the panic. I'm taking my dad and uncle tomorrow who have never been before.
I remember having to go really really early to get a spot on the rifle side. Whats it like nowadays on a Saturday? Do I still have to be there super early? Or can I go at a later time and still find a spot? Do they sell ammo there? How much? Thanks in advance, excited to take them.

Be there at opening, or after say 1-2pm.

They sell ammo. Bring an extra arm and leg.

I was surprised. I was there a couple of weeks ago, Saturday. Left my house late - maybe 8:45; was there by 10:00 and was able to walk right up to the rifle line. I was there till probably 3:00 and there was only one group within 2 benches of me in either direction all afternoon.

It does get busy mid-day and there was a line to check in. I think there are more people on the pistol side, though.

Print and fill out the release forms before you get there. It gets me in line quicker.

Pretty dead saturday. I got there around 1030 and there was plenty of room everywhere. Got to shoot my uncles brand new LWRC M6A2.. I used to lust over this thing, but my BCM shoots just as good if not better. Also got some time with a Kimber commander length. Man thats a lot of recoil lol.

While you are on their website, get the $2 off coupon. I keep a stack in my gun bag.

I usually go there on weekdays between 11-2. It's very slow at that time. Once a month the rifle range is closed for swat use. Don't buy ammo there unless you bring knee pads and lube. Those gougers are selling 500rnds of 22lr for $90, 1$ a round for 223 and $3-$4 a round for 308.

I should be there this Sunday. Anyone know how Thursday's look. Thinking of taking advantage of the half price but wondering if that draws the crowd out.

half price day is due to the LEOs taking up part of the range. so there is reduced capacity.

and either way, weekdays at ranges are always near empty. unless there is a holiday.

I used to shoot at ASR when I lived in SoCal. Even on the half-price day (Thursday), it was pretty open (probably 20-30% of capacity).
