with all this crap about building lowers....you're all giving them ideas to regulate and/or ban the other most important part!

You know what would be helpful and awesome? If you guys actually did a Youtube video of you placing the jig on the polymer lower, and milling out the innards with simple tools (like you said that's all we'd need) to show us who just bought one how it will be done. Then install the LPK. I'd like to see function vids too.

Either way, I'm excited, and if it is good to go, I'll take 2 more to replace my registered lowers and have only 80%ers.

Just My thoughts here..... But doing the above May just bring on "More" UN-Wanted attention from those Dirty three letter department(s)?
No reason to give them more proof on how easy the process is becoming. (May be to late for that too though??)

I wonder about the same thing. I don't own an 80% but I wonder about the folks who post all over the place about the ones they've completed. To me, the primary advantage of one is to have a legal, off the books, firearm.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but how "off the books" can anything ordered on the internet, using a credit card, really be? There may be some additional steps involved in figuring out what you have, but the only way to really keep these off the books is to pay cash and finish them in your own garage. Anyone ordering from the seller's site might as well assume that the .gov knows what they have or can find out if they are ever motivated to do so. This won't stop me from ordering, but I'm assuming the man will be well aware that I have one.

Due to the high volume output we will be able to do, ALL preorders will part of the first run and sent out at the same time.

Are you saying these are untested?

So if say they do have a problem, you won't know untill after they have shipped to customers?

or are you going to take orders, hold back on shipping until you test them?
just asking, as I am interested in buying too.

Polymers aren't anything new to the market, from Plumcrazy to ATI to new frontier and beyond.

Designing and building an AR polymer frame for 80 shouldn't be difficult either, as the dimensions don't sound like they're materially different than any other AR15, provided the hammer, trigger and safety hole are where they need to be. That, and the fire control pocket not milled and properly dimensioned. In the end, AR15s have problems in 3 areas or so, which these gentlemen seem to have addressed very nicely: the pivot pin area, and the buffer tube threading. As opposed to many manufacturers that provide non durable polymer pins it sounds like these guys will use existing LPK parts. It all sounds very cool.

FN scar fS2000s and many other rifles are built on polymer receivers.

However, I have to believe that with all of the changes in 3d printing and polymer chemistry, something tells me this design is unique and has some very cool features not found in any average polymer cut back that would be brought to market by any of the other lads.

Can't wait to see some rifles beginning to shoot these

So it's basically $85/lower and I can do it with a hand drill. Why not? I'm in for one.

I would really consider a few of these, but can't bring myself to pay for an untested design, no matter how well it is engineered. Please post results of any stress testing you do. I don't believe I am alone in this.

How is your polymer engineer dealing with the large mass in the trigger mechanism area? If that is molded solid the shrink will be very high not to mention the high possibility of perosity (air bubbles) in the material which may make it dangerously weak. The shrink rate of that mass has a very good possibility of causing the entire lower to shrink to the point of being out of tolerance. The hot core may not cool enough once ejected from the tool to prevent twisting or distorting.

I'm extremely concerned that you may be promising too much especially since you are already taking preorders for a product that has not been tested.

Don't get me wrong. I'd like to see this thing work like everyone else but knowing quite a bit about polymer engineering, injection molding and 3D printing myself, I'm concerned it's not being thought through and may get someone hurt.

Lots of the same doubts coming forward now that we heard back when Glock first hit the semi-auto pistol market and (eventually) turned that market around a sharp corner. The rest, as they say, is history...

Doubts can also be very valid concerns. For every example of a perfect product launch, there's thousands in which the product must be redesigned because of an oversight. If that's the case here, I'm sure they will do right by us. This doesn't seem in any way like the RRO incident
