Default CCW Costs, First Time or Renewal

Just wondering if you guys can give a break down of application costs, Livescan, training, or any other fees for a first time CCW Issue in CA. How much for the Renewal process?

Unless there is some way to amend a bill so you would support it,
the details do not matter until the Governor signs or allows the bill to become law.

Ask CA law questions in the How CA Laws Apply to/Affect Me Forum
- most questions that start 'Is it legal ...' go there.

Equipment and training is another question...factor in ammo (training and carry ammo), weapons holster, weapons training, and other incidentals.

Ensure the trainer you choose is authorized to do LTC training for your county, and the cost is dependent on the instruction/instructor you choose.

It seems that costs differ from county to county. However, the average is between $250 to $350. This does not include the cost of training, ammo, and CCW course. That usually adds up very quickly. For the CCW course I took, we were required to shoot 50 rounds per handgun.

It's kind of spendy here for sure. It cost me $60 in ND for everything (class and fee) and $15 in SD for a simple background check. Then I move to CA and it's nutty.

Better than standing in front of St. Peter and explaining I didn't want to spend the $400.00 for a CCW in my humble opinion.

Renewals are every two years in California and every five years in Nevada.
