Default Facebook taking down pro 2nd A pages.

This is my feedback to Facebook. Let's see how long it takes for me to be removed.

"Respectfully, the policy in place of removing Facebook members and sites which promote the lawful and safe use of firearms is in my opinion flawed and ill advised. As a former peace officer, I utilize Facebook to maintain contact with likeminded individuals and other trainers, as well as family and friends. If it is Facebook’s policy to censor free speech or only allow the views of individuals who have a certain political viewpoint, it would be advantageous if this policy were openly and expressly stated. While I understand I may be removed from membership in your site, I believe ALL of our freedoms should be equally expressed, celebrated and honored without reservation. Thank you for your kind attention."

Colion Noir just posted something along the lines of "seeing how my facebook page might be deleted, here's my twitter..." Not surprised..

all my pro 2a stuff is still up and I'm getting pro stuff from others and from sites that are just pro 2a. In other words I've seen no problems yet.

They're taking down pages that are offering firearm giveaways, not "pro 2A pages"

F**K Facebook.

I would say that you should all delete your accounts BUT....someone has to wage the war on their turf as well as anywhere else we may fight for the 2A. However, if they're going to keep pro-2A people from posting well.........F**K Facebook...

FB is a website run by cyber nazis. I've been messed with several times on there for reasons regarding my business and sometimes even for expressing what I feel and exercising my free speech rights. If I didn't have family over seas on FB and a Internet business I promote via FB, I would already be long gone.

Default No change for me

I have a "like" for the S.H.O.T. Show and it is still there along with the updated S.H.O.T Show page.

Now, the ads don't seem to track my likes or postings (SHOT Show and old tube radios).

Really sucky. I don't use FB but lots of folks obviously love to. I was more pissed and impacted by google banning all shopping searches related to firearms, ammunition and accesories. Now I use bing but it sucks. It's very contradictory with both companies allegedly supporting the free and secure transfer of all information. I should do some more research on why google chose what they did.

Even firearm giveaways shouldn't be against the TOS. I bet they don't take issue with non-gun companies having FB giveaways...

When you go to Facebook, you are a guest on their private property. They can do anything they want and rightly so.

If you don't like it, create your own social media service.

Facebook is run and staffed by hardcore lefties with a habit of taking down pages that say things they don't agree with. That's why TEA Party Community was setup, it's a facebook for conservatives that are tired of being muzzled by PC lefties.

News platform Vocativ recently contacted the social network about gun giveaways within the Facebook community. A spokesman for the social network said that, since such pages can be considered ads, they are in violation of the site's terms. Vocativ provided Facebook with the names of multiple stores participating in such contests, and the pages were subsequently removed.
"Our Ad Guidelines prohibit promotion of the sale of weapons and the Ad Guidelines apply to Pages with commercial content on them,” a Facebook rep said. “Ads may not promote the sale or use of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.

They're not taking down pro-gun websites. They are taking down ads. Not the same thing.

You don't have free-speech rights on Facebook. It's owned by a private business and is a privilege to use. You don't even have free-speach rights here on this forum.

In fact, if you're on there for reasons "regarding your business," you are most likely benefitting through promotions or customer service or PR. So I wouldn't be quick to complain. Maybe it's time you started paying Facebook for using their service to help make you money. And in fact, once you reach a certain threshold for traffic and 'likes' on your business page, you are required to pay Facebook for the service. You think brands like Coke, Nike, etc. use Facebook for free? Nope. My buddy promotes his "photography" on Facebook and he makes money from it. All for free.

From AR15news.com:

"My violations were two fold regarding Facebook’s TOS (Terms of Service). 1. I was not following Facebook’s guidelines when it came to running giveaways on my page. Basically, you can’t force people to use the “Like” button, etc to participate. 2. You aren’t allowed to promote the use/sale of a weapon/firearm/explosive."

I see plenty of commercial Facebook pages for Local Gun Stores that promote sales of firearms. Unless Facebook has recently made changes to go anti 2A, it's more likely AR15news.com didn't pay to play. Facebook requires payola to advertise.

My local gun store Alquist Arms, posts to facebook every morning when they first bring in something new and hot. Brick cheap .22, couple dozen certain model Glock pistol, Ruger revolver, a hundred of another make/model lowers under market prices. Or something else new and there's only two.

Checking their AM facebook post is a daily habit.

You can post and say whatever you wish on Facebook as a general user (for the most part). But as soon as you use the site for personal gain to promote your business, the rules change. This shouldn't be so hard to understand. You can't use the site to sell or give away firearms. It's a legal issue for Facebook. Nothing to do with politics. People are spinning this into an anti-gun policy, when it is not.

Of course it is an anti-gun policy. If FB wasn't anti-gun, they'd have no problems with people using FB to sell or give away firearms.

They've deleted plenty of my pro 2A posts. I've had friends ask me about a specific post, and then I go through my history and cannot find it. Should I be all about it?
