Default Lautenberg & gunpowder: here we go again

Well that didn't take long, the dead aren't buried and the police don't know what explosive was used but nimrod lautenberg knows better and has introduced legislation to require background checks to buy blackpowder and smokeless powder.
It also has a provision that you cannot make homemade explosives without a permit. This could be used to deny everyone the joy of reloading and even loading a blackpowder gun.

He forgot to add background checks for pressure cookers and cellphones. While he's at it, should do background checks for all foreigners who wants to visit America.

Actually, let's expand background checks to...

1. Anyone who wants to watch a marathon live..
2. Anyone who wants to buy a white or "dark colored" caps..
3. Backpacks!! ... Want to buy a Jansport? Background check!!!

How about background checks for pressure cookers, pvc, radio controlled cars, gas, etc., etc.
The stupidity in DC is spreading like a cancer.

RC cars use "tenergy" batteries. Same batteries used by the Boston Bombers.... Got to ban radio-controlled toys.

if we are going to recycle bad ideas from the 90's, can we at least balance it by recycling some of the good things from the 90's?

Such as.

$200 MAK-90's
$59 brand new sks
$100 case of 7.62x39 delivered to your door.
$400 norinco m14s
$200 1911a1

that should get us started

Lautenberg never noticed a freedom he didn't despise.

Reid will probably try to get enough support to bring it to the floor.

Be careful there luckystrike, you might be label as a far-right anti-semantic christian male according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, AIPAC, Jew Defense League and the ADL. I mean, what could guys like Bloomberg, Schumer, Feinstein, Boxer, Lautenberg, and Soros (Schwartz) have in common with one another?....

If the shoe fits...
Your prejudice only confirms their beliefs about all of us. You hurt the cause so put a sock in it or take your hate elsewhere.
Incidentally, I sent a letter to the Achdiocese of Monterey expressing my distress for their public support of these UN-Constitutional gun banning laws (the ultimate goal is not control, it is no guns). Many Protestant churches have also come out in support of these proposed measures.
Or am I mistaken. Are you speaking of the Jews (let's not mince words) as a race as opposed to a faith. Seems there was this other guy a while ago with a funny mustache who did the same thing.
How'd that work out?

Don't try to put words in my mouth. I never called them Jews in the first place. What makes you think they're really "Jewish" in the first place? Meaning, biblical/Israeli Jews (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sephardic_Jews) you know, the real jews? Moreover, it was an inside joke between me and luckystrike. Wow, some people are just too sensitive.

No kidding.

Yeah... soon, all those f***tards are pushing for background checks on everything:
- Buying car or any motor vehicle (do you have DWI?)
- Buying a steak (do you and your family have history of heart disease?)
- Buying laundry detergent (background check to prevent chemical warfare)

The stupidity never ceases at the expense of us, the taxpayers.

The real problem is this is an unsolvable issue

When EVERYONE wakes up and starts to understand that people with evil intentions will find thousands upon thousands of ways to be destructive, be it, commandeering aircraft, using firearms, bombs, chemicals, or, any other object that can cause bodily injury, especially in masses, that will be the time when people realize that more restrictions are not the answer

Until that time cames, we will continue to be flooded with useless new laws, proposed by even more useless legislators

I recall Aaron Zelman (JPFO ) relaying how he sent his reasearch to anti gunner Sen. Herb Kohl

What was Kolhs responce to JPFO s scholarly reasearch?
"Take me off your mailing list "

Lautenberg and other senators mentioned are one of the best arguments for repeal of the 17 th amendment.

William Weimer, a vice president of Phantom Fireworks, said the elder Mr. Tsarnaev on Feb. 6 purchased two “Lock and Load” reloadable mortar kits at the company’s Seabrook, N.H,. store, just over the border from Massachusetts. It isn’t clear if the powder from these fireworks was used in the bombings.

How many people do you think someone can kill with box cutters? Just walking around, jab the box cutters into a throat, twist, remove the box cutter, and move on to the next person. How many people do you think a crazy person could kill before someone stopped them? How many would bleed out before 9-1-1 responded?

http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-10-099...rds=box+cutter

Wow, a crazy person could order one of those weapons of war over the internet and have it delivered right to their door without even a simple background check...

Hell, if a crazy person wanted to be created they could do the following:

Buy a container of Bleach, and a container of Ammonia (NH3)

http://www.amazon.com/Clorox-Liquid-...eywords=bleach

http://www.amazon.com/Champion-Packa...ywords=ammonia

Looky there! You can just buy those two chemicals online, no background check needed. Hell, show me an average American kitchen that doesn't have those two chemicals in dangerously close proximity right now.

Combine them in a contraption composed of three containers, two of which will hold the two chemicals in two separate containers, and the contraption will then pump them into the third container upon command. Put that container into a backpack, leave it in a crowded place such as a big-box retail store, or an underground MUNI station, or just inside of a City Hall, and use a simple throwaway cellphone to set it off, or set it off with a timer, and voila! You have a chemical weapon nightmare.

http://chemistry.about.com/od/toxicc...nd-Ammonia.htm

First up, hydrochloric acid will do wonders to the floor, along anyone who happens to be standing close to the container. Next up will be the chloramine (NH2Cl) gasses melting your lungs from the inside out, which will will ruin your day, that's assuming the hydrazine (N2H4) doesn't ignite and blow you to pieces first.

And that's what a crazy person could do with just two over-the-counter chemicals that are bought every day with 10th grade chemistry knowledge. Imagine what a crazy person could do if they were serious about doing some real harm.

You can't stop crazy people from doing crazy things with more laws that they're too crazy to obey in the first place. That's crazy!

That is why anyone that took High School Chemistry needs to be registered in a National Database, it for the children.

My wife needs a CSC, cookware safety certificate so she can safely cook artichokes and buy pressure cooker gaskets.

Every time these asshat politicians overreact and over-reach with this kind of regulatory legislation, they are handing the terrorists exactly what they want. Killing off our freedoms a little bit at a time.

Because we haven't taken sufficient measure to stop them.

I actually think that tagants, done right, could be an ok idea.

Making the explosives labeled for every individual is a bad idea, but tagging batches could work well. If they could identify from residue which batch went out, to which distributor, that's the kind of information that can really help an investigation, without creating much of an extra cost or burden on anyone.

Lautenberg and other senators mentioned are one of the best arguments for repeal of the 17 th amendment.
It is really too bad that JPFO seems to have fallen into the background after Aaron Zelman died. I don't even know if there is a JPFO spokesman anymore as I haven't seen anyone for years representing the organization in interviews to counter the anti-gunners.

Jews and "Gun Control": Fear of Freedom or Freedom from Fear?

"American Jews need to dump their tradition of "victimhood", the result of 1,800 years of oppression, mainly in Europe. This tradition was never useful. It recent centuries it has been lethal.

In America the civil rights ensured by the Constitution mean that no one has to be a victim of the government. If American Jewish "leaders" junked the tradition of "victimhood", they could understand "freedom"as the Framers meant it: permanent freedom from fear of oppression. TheFramers thought that Freedom to be worth the sacrifice of fortune, health, or life. Jews in the Thirteen colonies generally agreed. They were not wrong."

Are you talking about gun powder? Where charges can be measured to the 1/10 of a grain? (1/70,000 of a pound). Messing with charges by weight or volume could be deadly. And early experiments with the smokeless powder Herco showed problems with spontaneous combustion with taggants. And you want plastic going down the barrel of your rifle? Wonder what kind of solvent you would need to get that out?

Looks like these bombers used fireworks.
