Default M16A4 clone build

I'm fairly excited about this I have 2 other rifles I'm almost done with but I can't wait to take this one to the range and sight it in. I still need a magazine lock and I need to find a Vickers sling I know I have somewhere.

Beautiful rifle
Now you need an ACOG to complete that look

Nice looking rifle.

Make sure you keep the receivers separated until you have a bullet button. It's an AW in that configuration (even sans mag release)

OK even though it doesn't have the ability to accept a detachable magazine?

I'm so glad I left California. Not only because of the stupid laws but because of all the people pointing out and "tsk tsking" people about the stupid laws.

Great looking rifle.

sure it can accept a magazine that can be removed from the weapon without needing to use a tool. you can hold it in position and fire it and then just let it drop freely.

Great looking rifle.
but in this case, the OP was not knowledgeable that the absence of a magazine latch doesn't necessarily make it legal, so it was good that starsnuffer posted.

Thanks guys. What's funny is the hardest thing for me to find available was the A2 stock. It wasn't cheap either if you've ever shopped at Specialized Armanment you'd know what I mean. Most of the other stuff I bought used on the CG FS section. I think its funny that most people wouldn't think this is an ideal gun for HD or whatever but its about the same length as my 590A1.

Thumbs up

Congrats from a fellow M16A4 clone owner! Here's a vid of my buddy's 16 year old son shooting mine at South Bay Rod and Gun.

He said he thought the M16A4 was the sweetest shooter out of my M4'gery, AK and .308 bolt-action.

Beautiful rifle. I wanted to build one just like that, minus the rail. BCM was out of those uppers at the time so I settled for their 14.5 upper.

Beautiful gun. So, the A4 doesn't have a telescoping stock? I didn't know that...

I personally prefer plastic rifle length handguards and no vfg on an A4 build but it looks good.

I did some mild research and the A4 is supposed to come with a railed handguard and a detachable carry handle. So that's why I called it an A4 clone and the A5 comes with a telescoping stock. I don't think I'm going to be getting an ACOG anytime soon and I'm actually looking forward to banging some steel with the irons out to 500.

Yep, plastic handguard would make it a A2-A4 hybrid of sorts.

Looks good though. Some sorta M16 clone has been on my radar for a while.

Same here. It's up there on the long list of must have clones.

Nice rifle op!

Btw I think PSA has a 20" assembled upper for like $450 or so. Think it would be good for starters but there's too many other parts I need".
