I used to frequent the Elsinore spot off Nichols for years. A buddy of mine that lives in Elsinore claims his buddy's been going there for 20 years. The legality of the place was always somewhat of a question however...

Recently, the city voted to annex more county land and incorporate it into Elsinore. The ballot measure passed. It wasn't til then that all the new "no trespassing" signs went up. Coincidence? Probably not.

Anyone in the area that has a spot closer than Victorville/Barstow I'd love to hear about it.

I have the nichols spot gps location. I'm not sure posting it publicly is a good idea though. I'm kinda new here and not sure if it's against the rules? Maybe a mod can chime in

Please do not post gps or directions publicly. If you want to send it in a PM that is up to you. Too many BLM spots have been ruined once they can be easily turned up by a google search.

X2 ^^^^ Please keep it to PM's if you think you trust a person to keep it clean.

I know people always say they clean up after themselves and I am sure most do..... but....

If you look at the clean up threads for Bee Canyon or the Perris area, each has less than 1,000 posts but one is just under 50,000 views and the other is just under 55,000 views....... do you think all the people that make up 100,000 views are interested in cleaning up???

2 different times we have filled roll off dumsters and the the last time it was 8 stake bed trucks full from near this area and it is bad again..... some people just don't get it.

Truth45 I noticed that you posted in the IE monthly shoot thread. I will bring the BLM maps I have to the next meet.

Unfortunately we do not have any BLM land in Murrieta that I know of... Someone else may have more info on that.

Default Questions about BLM 190-321

Anyone been there? I live in Greer Ranch and have heard a decent amount of gunfire in the distance, and have climbed the mountain on the backside of the subdivision and have seen folks about a mile north, in an area that looks to be private and east of 190-321. PM me if you have any intel on it... I have a couple of garands that desparately need airing out, and I'd love to go someplace super close and convenient.

Hey I'm new to calguns. Lake Elsinore is close to me and it would be awesome to shoot here. I clean up everything and more than what I take out. We've been doing that since I was a kid riding motorcycles in the desert and shooting and what not. If someone could PM me the directions here, that would be awesome. Also how is the accessibility? I don't have 4X4.

If anybody in the Murrieta area knows where this is and is free this weekend (Sunday evening?) would you be willing to show me where it is? I'm new to the area and not familiar with it at all, and my gf and I are looking for a place to go so we can do a little test firing without having to pay so dang much for range fees just to pop off only a few rounds.

PMs are welcome and much appreciated!

I have maps I picked up at the BLM office about 3 weeks ago the only legal to shoot BLM land is Steel Peak for this area you can go out to the desert they have a few more locations to shoot. The spot of Nichols Rd. is not BLM i thought it was but the folks at the BLM office said no. Now there is Bee Canyon and a few other places to shoot that are regulated by the US Forrest service. There are other spots like in Banning, Lake view, Sage areas where you can shoot.

I would too very much like to know about this place in Murrieta. I live in Temecula and you cant really shoot anywhere unless you drive 30-40 minutes out.

I have a very vast and extensive understanding of the blm land laws around this area and from what I can gather, you can NOT target shoot anywhere in the western side of Riverside County, including BLM land unless designated by the county, gov, forestry etc. Remeber, finding BLM land is only the first part. After that, you must make sure there are no other State, County, Federal, or local laws that pertain to that specific area that prohibit target shooting or other activities. In California, there is quite a bit of laws to comb through.

So check it out for all you Southwest RivCo people. I have taken the time to overlay all the BLM land in this area on Google Earth and have created a KMZ file so all you have to do is drag and drop and zoom to where you want. I will not post up my link on this thread. PM me if you want it, and even then, I still may not give it to you. I can't stand reckless trashy shooters that blow it for all of us.

There is BLM land off Nicholas road, and BLM land off Lake street as well, all of it being to the North/East. Legal to shoot there though? ...You probably would'nt take that chance if you read through all of the laws.

I just heard about this off the 15 & Nichols, whats the name of the range: Rancho __ ? I heard he charges like $20 to shoot all you want for day?

I'm looking for a new place to take my Boy Scout Troop that isn't so far. We live in the west end of the IE. We ALWAYS leave where we go cleaner than we found it.

Any chance someone would be kind enough to share a LEGAL location for a good cause? We're not a uhhhh, well to do troop shall we say. Most of our kids can't afford range fees so we usually go out by Calico.

TIA
