Default Where to hunt pig in San Diego County?

My son turns twelve next month and want to give him the best chance of getting a pig. If anyone knows a good stop can you PM me the location? I know you might not want to post up for all to see. We've been hunting together every year since he was six but just now getting into pig.

This is probably your best bet: http://www.dougswildernessadventures.com/
Never been there myself, but a couple co-workers have and had great things to say about his operation.

I've spent a considerable amount of time in some of the reported pig "hot spots" down here and haven't seen a single one. They're around, but if you want your kid to get a pig for his birthday, private land is the place to do it.

We are also coming into turkey season and many of the reported pig areas are also popular with turkey hunters. Just something to keep in mind.

Yup. I normally send people to Albertsons, but figured his kid deserved a shot at one.

I just signed up for the butchering class for my son and myself. I'm going to give one of Doug's hunts a try as I'm a newbie to pig hunting (and I want my son to get a chance at it as well.)

Yeah, it looks like a canned hunt. But probably more fun than going to Albertson's!

There are a few spots where you can get to em but for the most part you are looking at a miles in vertical hump coming out. It might be easier to eat it there.

A spot with pigs, or a spot where they are rumored to be?

We spent yesterday evening following piggie trails through the brush trying to figure out where they are bedding down. Didn't see any yet but wow this whole area is tore up from these guys.

How do you know what a "Piggie Trail" looks like? I can assure you that the pic with your kid in it is not exactly pig country.

The pic with my kid was way away from the area with all the pig sign. Well deer don't tear up and rut up whole areas. Plus talked to 3 separate people who have seen the pigs and one who killed one. Not rocket science the unicorns are on the loose!!

Anyone have a good resource to find legal hunting areas in San Diego and the outlying areas?
Looking to do a hog hunt. I was looking at some places up north but Doug's looks like a good choice for a first time.
Also is there rules on rifle type? I was hoping to run my AR10.
Thanks guys!

Let me know if you'd like a hunting partner.

I came up on a pig yesterday morning, but couldn't get a shot. He was hard charging about 30 yards above me- just a lone hog, but he was about 250 pounds. I was driving my truck and by the time I threw into park and grabbed my rifle, he was GONE. Was happy to see one, though...

All I could say was....DAMN! I'll get him next time!

Use the for the hunter safety course. IT's a canned hunt, my buddy went some months ago. Speaking of canned hunts, I just did one with BITTER WATER OUTFITTERS- I would not recommend them at all ( canned hunts that is). Zero Challenge.

Try certain areas in the cleveland national forest. If you call biologist with CA DFG ( forgot his name) he will point you in the general vicinity.
