Default Reloading Reloaded Components

During a recent transaction, I was given (free) appx 150 rds of reloaded .308 ammunition. Score... I thought.
When I got it home and bragged to my wife about the deal I got, she asked what the green spots were on the cases. I said, "oh that's just a little tarnish, nothing to worry about, I'll just wipe it off". NOT!
Projectiles pulled right out of cases when I started to clean them. Looked closer, every one of the 150 cases had split necks.

All I could do was dismantle them. The brass went in recycle, but I was torn about the primers and powder (specially right now with the shortages)

I decided the primers had to go. Most looked OK, but many were corroded.
I tumbled the pulled bullets to a bright finish. The powder is the only thing in question now. Whomever reloaded the ammo had listed the load data on each bag, so I know it's H322. Wasn't sure if the powder is still good, so I poured a small amount in a pan and lit it to see what would happen. It burned, very slowly, but completely.

I don't want to waste a 1/2 lb of powder, but don't want to risk a $800 rifle either. What do you guys think?

I still got a killer deal on the rest of the stuff, so I can't be too upset if I have to use the powder on my front lawn.

You do not know for certain the powder is what was on the ammo label. Just toss it on the lawn or flowers. It is a good source of nitrogen for the plants.
It is NOT worth the risk.

You were already given ammo that turned out to be questionable at best and you are considering using the powder to save like $15?

ding, ding, ding.... you understood my question correctly all the way from them thar hills of I-duh-no. Yes, I don't want to throw away like $15 bucks unnecessarily.

I already acknowledged that I was pretty sure I needed to dump it, but was asking for constructive advice from fellow members, on the off chance it could be saved for something besides fertilizer.

Divernhunter and Solus confirmed what I needed to do without being sarcastic or judgmental. Your input was useless and unsolicited.

It's guys like you that make new or novice members hesitant to ask for advise on the forum.

I'm neither happy nor sad, but I am not sure what he is right about. Did he say something constructive?

The first two members offered their opinions to my question and I appreciate their input on an issue that I had never been confronted with before.

My roses will be getting a treat tomorrow.

If you can't be 100% certain on what kind of powder it is, dump it. Another reason I don't trust anyone else's reloads except mine.
