If you didn't have that registered as an AOW, you are lucky you are not spending some time in jail with a felony. You can legally own one as an AOW but you gotta jump through all of the hoops, trust, tax stamp and find an FFL07/SOT2 who can SSE it.

If you didn't go through all of that to obtain it and they didn't arrest you, I would just walk away.

not in CA. "pen guns" are excluded from the AOW exemption.

You're right Jack, of course. I recall when I was researching this last year, I was thinking of the briefcase and flashlight guns. I was told if you could find an FFL07/SOT2 that could use a universal SSE kit, that these were legal in Ca. But pen guns are a no-go, I forgot the primary California rule, something gun related that is fun yet totally impractical, has to be illegal in California.

Not really that weird, but it's the weirdest gun I have...

How about a pencil gun? Oh somewhere I have plans for a .22 caliber Zippo lighter. Tempting to make now under AOW rules!

Wilson Witness? See old Miami Vice episodes.

As for pen guns, in the free United States there are plenty of them that are not Title II items. They are just ordinary handguns. I used to have one.

I'll see your coonan and raise you one coonan

The old Braverman/ American Derringer pen guns were legal in CA when you could still get them.

I handled one at B&E guns- the thing folds in half so it looks like a regular pistol before firing. Transfers as a standard pistol.
I remember it was quite finicky to get into operation- nothing like a 'snap out and fire' spy gun.

I am new to the collecting part. I have only owned a .30-30 winchester carbine that was purchased for me by my step-dad when I was 12. That was pre-disco era. I have shot various guns but decided to start collecting. Yesterday I jailed this in a PPT.

I found it browsing the marketplace. Wife asked why do I need another gun? I asked why did she need another pair of shoes (last count she has over 50 pairs). When she got to the part about some she liked because they were cute I said bingo. You cannot tell me this is not cute. I use my allowance for what I want you use your for what you want. She actually said, "you win".

Not so strange but my first in what I hope will become my collection I can hand down to my now 19 yo son.
