Yes, 3 stages. Plates, Glock M and 5 to Glock. You can use any mags, you can only load a max of 11 rounds (7 in Major Sub) in the gun on any stage. If you have preban standard capacity mags you are fine to use these.

You can carry the gun in a holster if you like but it has to be empty of course and the slide locked back. There is no drawing from a holster. I prefer to keep mine snug and out of the elements in case of some sort.

Just a couple of tips.

Bring at least 4 mags and 150 rounds per division you are shooting. This will eliminate reloading on the line and cover you in the case of a reshoot.

After you register sign in at ALL of the stages and then pick the one you want to shoot first. If everyone is following the system this will work to your advantage.

Do not hesitate to tell the RO you are a newbie. They will be more than happy to help and walk you through the procedures.

Shoot slow. Accuracy is more important than speed in GSSF and penalties are stiff for misses. Don't ask how I know.

Bring water.

Wear a hat. It helps keep the sun out of your eyes and brass out of your face!

There is usually food there but you might want to have a snack handy.

Norco usually runs pretty quick but a folding chair is not a bad idea.

Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!

Uncle Mike sells BBQ on a stick (VERY good) and gatorade/water
but I'm not sure if he's there on sundays.
He's always there grilling on the saturday IPSC matches

I have never been to this event and am going this weekend. I heard there will be vendors there selling stuff, anybody I should look for or take extra $ for?

I ended up going today. I didn't get there until about noon and finally finished up about 4:15. I only shot in 2 classes, AM CIV and COMP. Good time though. I saw the CGN team was there. Mrs. Bowhunter was there with me, which made for a nice day.

You should have stepped up and said hi, we don't bite and judging from today we don't shoot very well either! It was a great day shooting with everyone even though I think it was a bit of an off day for Team Calguns. Here are my scores. Didn't do as bad in Civ as I thought.

Comp- 104.24
Civ- 75.01
Unltd- 100.80
Sub- 125.65
HM- 129.37
MajSub- 71.66

Pretty much sucked with the G30 today. Way to many C & D's along with a couple Mikes and a plate up in HM & MajSub.

Can't wait for the next one guys!

This was my first GSSF and first competitive match of any kind. Tons of fun. I was very happy to meet some cool people and learn a lot.

Hats off to the RO's and other GSSF employees that made it an enjoyable time.

It was my first outdoor GSSF too, and I agree with you 100%; very fun, well organized (except for registration at first thing in the morning), and GREAT people!

A special thanks to Walt over in the practice bay... he was very helpful and let me shoot his G21 .45.

In the end I shot terrible (I was tired after having shot the previous two days)... but had a blast!

Fewer entries. I am thinking there were only a few less on Sunday than Saturday. The count was 225 at the end of the day Saturday but some of those were pre-entries like myself that had not shot yet.

I screwed the pooch in Civ, but did ok in Comp.
CIV 119.56
Comp 91.84

I had to shoot CIV with a busted front sight on my G17.

If finally fell off all the way on my last series of my last stage and the RO told me to go to the armorer. I figured it was a good time to switch to some better sights, so I need to figure out what I want to use and order them. I should have realized that they would have replaced it as soon as I saw it and then I might have done better with that gun. First time I ever shot it. I wonder if it was broke when I bought it.

Oh, I have the final count at 390 entries, up from 332 last year. Some much for the naysayers about ammo shortages affecting turnouts.

I saw they posted the scores today on the GSSF website, how long until they determine the random gift winners usually?

It is usually about a month after the prelims are posted but the last few have been about 3 weeks.

what does it mean when there is an *Asterisk* after someone's name?

I got 12th place in Unlimited, but SOMEHOW they gave me $75 for 3rd place?

The asterisk indicates a Master shooter. And I don't see how you were 12th when I was! Are you sure you weren't 2nd? If so the reason for the 3rd place money has t do with the way GSSF shuffles the top 3 when a Master has already "gunned out" for that event. I can't fully explain it because I'm not in that situation.

If you're Brandon, then you got 10th place and a $50 random in Unlimited. It was Competition Class that you got 12th overall and 3rd in Amateur. Congrats, you won some money. Paid for all of your entry fees plus your membership for a couple years.
