Picky picky picky!!!

Me? I will shoot just about anything that I can lay my hands on.
Rifle, pistol, shotgun ... bow&arrow, spear, atl-atl, sling, axe, hatchet, knives, club, and even sharp pointy stick or rock ... yep, just about anything.

In fact ... I will take at least one of each. It really don't matter to me. If I am not proficient with it ... I will at least train with it for awhile to at least get a feel for the platform.

Anything that is not self loading.
Revolvers
Things with non-detachable magazines.

AK pattern rifles. Just Meh.
SKS, I owned two of them and until I bought a Tavor they were the only semi-auto rifles I'd ever owned. Don't feel the need to own them again.
Revolvers. I'm not a big pistol person, these are like pistols that suck even more.
Things covered in wood. That **** is heavy! It's 2014, not 1914.

Mosin. Nope.

One of my roommates recently went the range with some old friends that relocated here. He's never owned a gun and he's talking about buying a revolver in .460 and then a reloading press and a Mosin.

Granted I probably wouldn't say no to a VEPR in 7.62x54R.

Shotguns: Busted shoulder makes them no fun really. I've never enjoyed shooting them before before that.

Yes, I am the person that wishes the NFA didn't exist so I could own AOWs and SBRs. But really I just want some sub-guns and PDWs.

Rugers. Any and All. I bought a nice 10/22 for $200 and I felt cheated. Could of had a marlin 60 with a scope for that.
Noveske, Larue , boblawboblaw... everybody has an AR15 let me show you how much more money I spent on mine at the range. Also owned a mosin, nothing special there. Worth about $100 if you ask me. Colt pythons... $2-3k? FOR WHAT??? they are not rare and you can get a S&W 586, 686 for 700. Same gun if not better.
I understand the need for polymer hanguns but not for me. You cant carry in most of california so whats the point of light weight other than more recoil?
.308 battle rifles and the guys that think they are bunker busting handheld tow missles. Id take a m1 garand over a m1a anyday. 8rds of 30-06? now thats a war hammer.

If you haven't shot an M14 than I'll assume this was said out of ignorance . Also I'd like to add anything that has Zombie related markings/paint job/decals. Even if the zombie apocalypse occurred, are you really that guy with a neon green zombie AR-15? Haha

1911's. Can't stand that hanging metal hook off the end. It's the first thing that catches on your pocket pulling one out.

If you haven't fired a Mosin Nagant 91/30 your missing a ton of fun. Cheap to buy. Paid total of $250.00 that's after having the bolt refinished. Accurrate as all get out. Buy old ammo and it's about $.022 a round to shoot, pretty cheap.

Civilian versions of the Tavor, Kriss Vector and P90. Any of the self-aiming "smart rifles".

Now, mind you I would be fine with owning any of those. And I don't sell guns (ever!) so I would keep them. I do like all weapons, but these are ones I don't feel driven to purchase. The Tavor is a codpiece, the vector and P90 are neutered variants of PDWs made into carbines that are out performed by their purpose-built rivals.

Self-aiming weapons are expensive and lazy- not to mention they'll probably be made a felony to own.

Personally I like older guns, they suit me well. If they're too heavy for you, hit the gym! Not that I don't like the black guns. My Mossberg will keep its molded nylon furniture forever: it's very practical. But I like wood and steel, if it's my money on the line I want to get what I like. Not to mention that as I don't really care for little chamberings some added weight helps my shoulder.

Oh and speaking of shoulders I'll take something with a rubber recoil pad but I'm swamping it for steel the second I get the chance.

Glock. The second semi-auto I ever fired was a Glock 17. Hated it. Grip is very important to me.

AR-15, at least in 223. Realistically, the only AR platforms that I would be interested in is either a SBR 300 blackout with suppressor, or a 6.5 Grendel again SBR but mostly because those calibers are non existent in my preferred platforms AFAIK. For .223 I would want a Tavor. Not to be trendy, but for a very practical reason. I have a gimp arm, and I can hold a Tavor far more steady than I can an AR-15.

I have trouble with long rifles, more than I have trouble with weight anyways, and that is (a major advantage often to the AR over say a Mini-14)

Beretta M2.

Any and all pump shotguns or double barrels. Shotgun must be single shot or semiauto for me to handle decently.

500 SW in any revolver and handcannon snubnosed revolvers. If I need a 454 casull for Brown Bear protection, I will carry one with a longer barrel. Maybe that way I can actually hit the bear and maybe get a second shot.

I love heavy recoil in a handgun...to a point. .44 magnum loads may be that upper threshold. Shot a 500 magnum snub nose and thought my hand was going to shatter.
