Default My WWII Collection

Picked up an Arisaka Type 99 from a CalGunner today. I've got a bit of a WWII collection going now!

Nice! You need to get a 1903 or 03a3 in there.

No! Must resist the temptation!

Left to right in the pics I've got:

Arisaka Type 99 - Nagoya Arsenal 1939-1945?
Mosin-Nagant 91/30 - Izhevsk? 1942
K43 (G43) - Walther Feb 1945
M1 Garand - Springfield April 1942

Nice group of rifles -- they need more company.

interesting that you've got the g43 in there. thats worth more than the rest put together.

"here's my car collection: russian lada, ford mustang, honda accord.... BMW 7 series."

agree that you need an enfield.

Would like more pics and descriptions of everything, especially the Arisaka, if possible.

How do you date it?

LOL. Nice analogies. Yeah. I got the K43 back in the 80's and didn't know what it was. Found out a couple years ago over on gk43forum.com what I had. Worth a lot more than I knew. But after researching that rifle, and finding the history interesting, it's what made me want to get the others.

I don't know how to date the Arisaka. That's why I have a question mark. I looked on this page but am not clear. I can't even really be sure what "series" it is from the kana. I think it's 6 or 26. Maybe somebody here can tell me. Following is a pic. Notice it also still has the mum.

I've got lot's of pics of the K43 here, before I had found a replacement front sight blade, hood, and cleaning rod.

There are more pics of the Arisaka in the seller's thread here.

The Garand is just a CMP field grade Springfield. Although I like the low serial number. And the Mosin is just a $100 Big 5 rifle.

The most interesting thing in those K43 pics for me are the images of the instruction manual.

2 questions just for fun,
1 -which is your favorite?
2- which would you take into battle if you had to back in the 1940s?
please limit your answers to the rifles in the photos.
I think for me it would be the Garand on both questions.

It looks like a mid production Series 6, made about November or December 1943.
