Was there this afternoon, got there at about 5:30 and they were loading up the ammo case. Three 525 round bricks of Federal 22, but it disappeared right in front of me. Plenty of 5.56 and Winchester WB 100 round 9mm.

Big5 at El Cajon Blvd and College Ave had I believe 4 boxes of Winchester 9mm 100 round boxes and 6 or 8 boxes of 50 rounders when I was there at 6:30 tonight.

They had a bunch of others too but don't ask me what it was, I didn't pay attention.

Do you know the cost comparison to other retailers? I imagine them being on the high end.

Big 5 is a little on the high end, maybe $3-5 more than Walmart. Usually you can find coupons that will bring the price down some, comparable to Walmart prices, maybe lower..

Wal-Mart on Shawline was pretty light.

Plenty of 7.62, .223, and 5.56.

Small amount of .40 and .38

No 9mm or .22

Is there any reason why people don't purchase ammo online? Been shooting in San Diego for 3 years and I've never bought a single round in a store.

Big 5 may cost a bit more than Walmart, but if I'm there and it's available, I'm going to get as much as I can get. Opportunity waits for no one.

Not so......I have been ordering online on several merchants. No tax and free shipping. Availability is a little bit shaky though.

This.

I find that Big 5 seems to have decent prices on 7.62 (x39, and x54R), and it can even be sometimes found on sale in their circular.

They also seem to get regular shipments of .30 carbine, but it's super expensive at Big 5; 38.99 for 50, whereas Turner's usually sells it for 19.99 for 50, when they have it.

I was just at Eastlake Walmart. Their ammo case is half full: Highlights: 5.56 American Eagle 120 Rd Box, Winchester 100 rd White box in .40, .45, and .38. I think they had 50 rd boxes of Remington green box of .45. They had 9mm in some brand I've never seen before. It started with a Z I think.

Lake elsenore was full. We got 3 boxed of 100 12ga, 3 boxes of 555 .22 lot and 3 boxes of 100 .45! That didn't even dent the ammo on hand. Too Bad we shot it all today!

Since this is more localized compared to the Ammo find threads in other subsections does anyone want to trade numbers so we can text each other when we find stuff? Maybe like PM each other Name, Location of ammo and type?

Grossmont had a nearly full display case this morning. The problem with Grossmont is they only sell at designated times.
