Default CalGuns Mobile Billboard Effort Moving Forward

Some weeks ago, Save Our State agreed to lend the use of a mobile billboard to CalGuns for an outreach to the public in regards to citizen firearms use and ownership. Calguns has provided banners for the display ad, and thanks to some time and tool donation from Calguns faithful, the billboard is undergoing some modifications to make the CG banners fit on it.

Here are a few pics of today's mods, which will enable some fine tuning of the banner in the days ahead

We're looking forward to the first deployment of the billboard this month, and with many more to follow through the spring and summer season.

A very grand tip of the hat to (name withheld by request) for coming to the site with his metalworking equipment at his own expense, and as you can see, working without a safety net while balanced upon the precipice.
do we have a hat-tip smilie here?

Thank you OP and everyone else who's helping with this outreach project!

Clearly the anti's have ratcheted up their rhetorical nonsense Sacramento, it's time that CGN & CGSSA get's our message out to the people, and this is a great way to do just that!

How can people in the Sacto area contact you if they want to help?

Looking forward to your updates!

Not my idea, I wish it were. This one was cooked up between AyatollahGondola of SaveOurState.info and Penny's Dad, the honcho of the C3's. Thanks guys!

Everybody go review http://www.saveourstate.info. It's full of good stuff.

Or through the CalGuns.net forum PM

or in this thread.

We could still use a few things to dress it up:

There was a frilly red, white, and blue skirt that went around the perimeter of the trailer, and sun, wind, and cold wore it out. I got that one for free, so I don't know where to get more. Alternatively, another form of material to make a skirt from can be suggested or offered. The skirt kind of covered the trailer frame and made it look a bit more attractive.

Also could use about a gallon or two of navy blue outdoor paint for the floor of the trailer. I just coated it with white sealer a few weeks ago, but white shows off every boot print and bird poo that gets on there.

We have to be our own media. This worked well for our other causes at SOS; it draws interest from afar.
I think the anti-gun crowd will dismiss it at first, but we will be taking it to their sacred grounds

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the modifications to the billboard will not be done in time for the Gun Show in March.

We're shooting for April, and some other installations between now and then. Watch for updates.

I need a companion on this. It's been months and this project has languished. We have the banners, I found a way to attach them, and the weather can't be argues as a barrier. The problem is, I've been experiencing some medical problems for about 8 months now, and I have good days and bad days. While not particularly life threatening, it happens without warning sometimes, and can render me nearly useless for a couple hours or more. Short story is, I want to move on this thing, but I need someone to go with me in case the bad happens while we're out.

We'd be driving to a chosen location (in Sacramento), where we'd park the billboard and wait. Possibly meet and greet people, as well as hand out handbills. There is, of course, the possibility for conflict, from both or either of anti-gunners and authorities of one type or another.

We could work this around your schedule for the most part, as I have had to lay back on my business over this issue of mine, and there's not much for me right now anyway.

I'm looking for a few good men and women. It'd be nice if you can drive a pickup truck towing a trailer, but it's not a requirement.

Should give the trailer to whomever has the longest commute to work everyday. Have people donate a couple bucks to make up for the loss of gas mileage etc. Also wouldn't hurt to get some hub caps.

This billboard does the best work when it is stopped. It gets people's attention, and then ambassadors meet, greet, and welcome them in.
Hubcaps would be great. We take donated goods if you have them. Those are pretty old style wheels though.

What's up with this? Are you still looking for help? Hubcaps? Other?

Yes; and no. I'm not sure. I fell sick. Also fell poor.

The situation is this at present. The billboard has been sitting idle since the welder came and prepped it for the banner. I became a bit too weak and unstable to go out alone with it. I got better, but never totally good. Business fell...and fell....and fell, until it just about came to a stop. The billboard needs to be registered. Not a great deal of money, but what I get these days is too little to throw at activism.
I'd still like to do it. but....
I cannot go out alone, and I can't use money I don't have to support it in any way right now. There were a few people that offered to go out with me, but that still leaves the funding. Fuel and maintenance on the tow vehicle, registration, and a few incidental needs. It's not just 2A either. Save Our State has pretty much came to a halt too, without me driving it.
Wish I had better news

Had a small bit of work, and will take this up again. the billboard needs a fresh bit of paint, so if the weather holds clear, should have that done early next week. Banner attached late next week, and first deployment the week following. Anyone still up for wing-man...or woman, please contact

Better late than never?
