Default NEED TO GET A WALTHER PPK 32 INTO CALI. FROM TEXAS

Hi,
I have been searching for a Interarms West German PPK in 32 caliber from the 60's-70's era, non war, and found my perfect one in Texas. It is a 70's model so no luck on C & R. My normal FFL does not do SSE and my SSE FFL does not do 32 caliber.

I am looking for a FFL that can handle this or any help on other routes to get this gun into Our beloved State.

I live in Los Angeles, San Bernardino & Orange County areas but will travel if necessary.

Thanks for any help/guidance...Tim

Don't think you can do an SSE because it won't meet the min. barrel length of 6" and OAL of 10.5" Unless you get a spare barrel and weld an extention to it to make it 6" before importing. The other option is if you have parents/grandparents living out of state to do an interstate familial transfer.

You could always buy it from somebody who moves into CA with the gun, then registers it in their name using the CA DOJ new resident registration form. They can then sell you the gun.

If it was marked with what I asked, then it would have been a C&R.

Hi All,
Thanks for the info. and keep it coming.

I have tried to find one in Cali. from this era with no luck so far.
I have even tried to find one from the early 60's so it can be C&R, no luck
I want to stay away from war guns, personal thing and am a James Bond Fan.
I have posted on the Walther Forum for help, most are not familiar with our laws

Can I have the gun disassembled and have the frame shipped to my FFL and the parts shipped to me then I can have it reassembled ?

Just trying to find a LEGAL way to get this gun, Thanks and keep it coming...Tim

A firearm has to be on the certified list, be an exempt transfer or the person has to be exempt.

A frame is not on the certified list.

If you have a parent/child/grandparent/grandchild, it can perhaps be done as an intrafamilial transfer. If you are a dual resident of another state, then you could also get it.

There are no west German PPK made that are over 50 years old. The Manurhin are the same pistol except for markings and are C&R.

Normally, this crime is not caught, because it depends on intent, which the DoJ has a hard time discerning (unless there is other evidence). In this particular case, the matter has been discussed on a public website which is known to be read by law enforcement. Oops.
Whoa, if someone is willing to buy a firearm and move to California with the sole intention of selling said firearm I would say they have other issues than trying to bypass a stupid law. I am guessing that he was saying "if" someone had moved here and wanted to sell it he could buy it from them.

Yes sorry that was my intention. I never meant to encourage circumvention of the law. Just wanted to point out the myriad ways off list guns end up here.

Hi All,
I Really appreciate all of the responses.
I am also trying to see if someone in California has one for sale so I can just do a PPT, I started a thread here on Calguns but no response.
I see a few on gunbroker and that is why I am hoping I can find a FFL here that can do a SSE if I buy one.

I do not want a war era one, just a personal thing, but it seems like my choices are either a war era or a late 60's so I am missing the C & R window unless I go to the war ones.

So keep the info coming, I am confident there is a way..Tim
