Default Most Secure Gun Safe

I just came across this while browsing the net. It's a TL30x6 rated gun safe. That means the door and all sides of the safe are rated to withstand a 30 minute attack by a pro. You cannot get any better than this. Reasonably priced too, starts at $3499.

Well, you could get resistance to explosives and cutting torches, too -- TXTL -- but that's pretty darn good. I'm not familiar with any specific gun safes with a TXTL rating, but same web site has http://www.lackasafe.com/products/us...xury-txtl60-sa

TL30X6 is rated for explosive attacks, and the concrete in the walls will protect against torches.

3500.00 isn't expensive IMO if you get a product that delivers on its promises and offers real security.

Man, how do you get to be a safe cracker for UL? If i could do destructive testing every day I'd be ridiculously excited.

If I was going for ultimate security my approach would be a safe room with a safe inside
cameras and alarm of course

That, and they start at $3,500. Looking at the smallest safe listed, you'll fit 4-8 long guns in that $3,500 safe.

Not just the price, look at the weight! 3982 lbs for the 10/20 gun model (which is under 20 cubic feet).

A slight error. The 'TL' designation is for 'tools'. 'TR' is for torch, 'TX' is for torch and explosives.

What does TL15, TL30, TL30X6, TRTL15X6, TRTL30X6, and TXTL60 mean?

These are burglary ratings that are issued to safes from Underwriter's Laboratories (UL). These safes are rated based on their resistance to a burglary attack from certain tools and torches for a set period of time. For great information about UL's safe testing procedures, please click on the following link: http://www.ul.com/global/eng/pages/c...tymyths/safes/

Listed below will be a quick overview of what these ratings actually mean.

TL15 Safe

A UL Rated TL 15 Safe is a combination locked safe that has been tested by Underwriter's Laboratories to resist a powerful tool attack from their safecrackers for a total of 15 minutes. Tools such as drills, grinders, picking tools, electric or mechanical tools, power cutters, and more are used.

TL30 Safe

A UL Rated TL 30 Safe is a combination locked safe that has been tested by Underwriter's Laboratories to resist a powerful tool attack from their safecrackers for a total of 30 minutes. Tools such as drills, grinders, picking tools, electric or mechanical tools, power cutters, and more are used.

TL30X6 Safe

This safe is like a TL30 Safe but with six sided protection (safe body and safe door.)

TRTL15X6 Safe

This safe offers torch and tool protection on all six sides for a net time of 15 minutes.

TRTL30 Safe

A UL TRTL30 safe is a combination locked safe (most likely a dual locking system) that offers high protection against not only the power tool, but also can withstand an oxy-fuel welding and cutting torch (tested gas limited to 1000 cubic feet combined total oxygen and fuel gas.)

TRTL30X6 Safe

This safe is like a TRTL30 Safe but with six sided protection (safe body and safe door.)

TXTL60 Safe

The ultimate safe rating by UL—a TXTL60—should withstand every tool attack, every torch attack, and even an hour’s worth with the use of 8 ounces of nitroglycerin.

No it doesn't. Not for serious collectors or those with sizeable investments in firearms, jewelry, documents, electronics, or precious metals or heirlooms.

That may be so but I've seen video of a Liberty RSC rated safe withstanding dynamite. I'm sure this would hold up too.
